The Sydney Football Club was an Australian rules football club founded on 7 August 1880[1] and based in Sydney.[2] Earlier, short lived, clubs by the same name had been formed in 1865 and 1868.

In 1886 the club went undefeated winning 12 games and drawing 2.[3] In that season, they scored 52 goals, the record for goals scored up to that point.[4]
The club had sustained success until the 1930s, winning NSWAFL premierships in 1905, 1907, 1912, 1913, 1923, 1925 and 1931.
