References to Cyborg 009
editAfter reading some of the Japanese article, I have to tell you. I was wrong to say that there was no connection to the previous work. You see, the characters the Japanese article talks about have a "motif" based on the Cyborg 009 characters. Also, while I didn't mention this in the article since it would be considered speculative, judging from the names of the other 009 agents (009-2, 009-3, etc), it's likely that they have the same nationalities as the 009 characters. Judy Moor might be American. Vanessa Ibert might be French, and so on.
If anyone can confirm the nationalities of the 009 agents, I would appreciate it if they were added to the article.
References to Cyborg 009 - Redux
editThe visual styles are certainly reminiscent of each other, especially in the character's facial features, etc, and both universes preserve the East/West Cold War motif. 009-1 is also more mature/adult-themed, while Cyborg 009 is clearly a kids' show. Cyborg 009 borders on fantasy, while 009-1 is more gritty, realistic...using gadgets and science rather than "special powers" that are nearly magical. In 009-1 the West Block are the expected nationalities--British, Australian, French, American, and same for the East Block (East German, Russian), though they are a little more indistinct. Mylene Hoffman is a Western agent but grew up in the East and later defected. She's probably East German, or possibly even Jewish. I've seen all the 009-1 episodes current available, and am just now watching Cyborg 009 for comparison. I like both, but prefer 009-1. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.11.242.172 (talk) 04:25, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
Reason for requesting lead rewrite
editNumber 2 of WP:MOS-AM#Content says: "Article introductions should be primarily about the original format of a work and not about the most popular format of that work." --Geopgeop (T) 07:51, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
NPOV tag
editI've tagged this article with an NPOV tag (amongst others) because it focuses on the anime adaptation instead of the original manga. If no one else gets to it, I'll look into rewriting some of the article to focus on the manga primarily when I get around to it. 「ダイノガイ千?!」? · Talk⇒Dinoguy1000 18:45, 4 September 2009 (UTC)
