edit@Number 57: Thanks for creating all these TT elections pages. I was wondering if you could help me figure out the source for Isaac Hope running against James Biggart for the Tobago seat in 1925. I checked Teelucksingh, and it looks like he doesn't list results for the Tobago seat in 1925 at all. In addition, I was reading Learie B. Luke's book and he mentions the Governor reporting to the Secretary of State for the Colonies that no white men could be found who were willing to run for the seat. Hope, at least according to Luke, was white.
Is it possible that you added him here by mistake, and meant to include this in the 1933 page? Guettarda (talk) 17:49, 29 October 2020 (UTC)
- @Guettarda: It's from the Teelucksingh book (see p106, which is cited in the text directly above the results table). The link to the book on the page is only to the appendicies from p179 onwards, hence why you wouldn't see it there). Cheers, Number 57 18:29, 29 October 2020 (UTC)
- Oh, I see now. I saw the reference to p. 106, and skimmed that chapter, but couldn't find any mention of Hope. But that's because the elections were discussed in the previous chapter, and the relevant page for the edition I have is p. 80. (I only got my copy of Teelucksingh's book yesterday, so I've just done some skimming.) Guettarda (talk) 18:51, 29 October 2020 (UTC)
