NZ Herald references?

edit

@Kiwichris: On checking microfilms of the NZ Herald, I found the two references given here for the election results (22-Oct-1974 p.19 and 23-Oct-1974 p.16) did not seem to be valid. When I consulted Graham Bush's history of the Auckland City Council, Advance in Order, he says (p. 388, note 46) the results were published in the Herald on 14-Oct-1974, p. 3 - which proved to be correct. (I took a photocopy of that page of the Herald.) I could be missing something here - maybe a morning vs. evening edition of the Herald ?? – but otherwise I'd suggest we amend the references per Bush. They are page 19 of section 2 and page 16 of section 3 respectively. I don't know how to add the section of a newspaper to the citation. It would be great if they could be added as it is a bit confusing. Kiwichris (talk) 08:38, 23 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Those pages did not seem to exist in the microfilm I was looking at (Auckland Central Library) -- hence my wondering whether there were differing editions of the Herald published on those dates. My main intention was to look up the local body results like the Hospital and Harbour boards (not just the Council). Muzilon (talk) 09:08, 23 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Also I forgot to add that the 14 October results are the preliminary results, the later dates are the final counts. Kiwichris (talk) 09:21, 23 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Gotcha. I have added the Herald section numbers in brackets, which I hope makes sense. Muzilon (talk) 06:03, 24 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
