During the great famine of Bundelkhand in the year 1865, Babu Prasanna Chandra Chatterjee son of Babu Har Chandra Chatterjee, a Govt. Pensioner who happened to be the first Bengalee settled in Jhansi distributed charities to the sufferers. For this noble work he was awarded a certificate on behalf of Queen Victoria in the year 1897. That certificate was signed by then Lieutinant Governor of Oudh and Agra, Antony Pattrick MacDonnell. Latter the Bengalees of Jhansi started a high School in his name, MacDonnell High School in Jhansi. The name of that school was latter changed in the name of its first principal, Late Bipin Behari Banerjee as Bipin Behari Intermediate School.
(The original certificate as cited above is in my captivity. I can provide its picture.) Purnadeb (talk) 17:36, 20 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
