editI'm going to presume this is an American holiday? It would be nice to have this mentioned in the body of the article. It reads very American-centric at the moment. Shaybear♥ —Preceding comment was added at 02:32, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

Link to National Astronomy Week
editI have removed a line which claimed that 'Astronomy Day is part of National Astronomy Week, which begins on the previous Monday'. In fact, the National Astronomy Week (NAW) referred to is a completely different event, held in the UK, which takes place only in particular years when there is something of astronomical interest to celebrate. No NAW has ever coincided with an Astronomy Day as fas as I am aware, and I have been on the NAW steering committee ever since the first event in 1981. The choice of dates for the spring Astronomy Day also rules out any effective practical European involvement, as in much of Europe astronomical twilight does not end until about 10 or 10:30 pm even at the end of April. Possibly the reference should be to National Dark-Sky Week. Robin Scagell (talk) 11:55, 14 November 2020 (UTC)
Update
editThe article needs to be updated. It groups the Astronomy Day of 2021 as a future event. Please move the date to the past events timeline. ExoplanetaryNova (talk) 01:45, 31 January 2022 (UTC)
