Page Cleanup

edit

This page is getting rather out of hand. There are various references to productions, which is all well and good, but these productions have ticket sale phone numbers. Wikipedia isn't the classified section of the internet, thanks -- I've deleted the list of productions. I'm sure it's justifiable. I wouldn't have done it if it hadn't jumped out at me.

Also, I've taken issue with the overly long plot "summary". The current problem I see right now, ignoring the shoddy writing, is the paragraph breaking (it's rather complex and tediously long at the moment). When I have time, I'll be sure to change it -- though I invite anyone else who can to change it. --Ryoji.kun 03:16, 27 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Okay, now I think it's just hopeless. Ryoji.kun 04:21, 25 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Nah, just needs work. The cleanup of the high school section will really help a lot to maintain order and clarity. Thank you for that. --adavidw 04:49, 25 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Synopsis is WAAAY too long

edit

The synopsis for this play is ridiculously long. It should consist of 3 or four paragraphs at most to be encyclopaedic. If folks want more details, there are plenty of other places to find them. There is also little need for the character list as it is currently formatted. --Lendorien 15:01, 10 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

So we've noticed. Perhaps you can help? Ryoji.kun 11:49, 23 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

High School Productions

edit

I'm uncomfortable with the reference to another high school "currently" producing the play. Since there's no reference as to which high school and when, there's no way, there's no way to know if the "current" reference is already outdated. Does anyone know the source of this information, and if so, can they expand that a little in the article? adavidw 08:01, 11 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Done and done. Unfortunately, Bat Boy: The Musical has gotten much more popular as of late, and I've had to clean up the various references to ticket sales, advertisements, etc. --Ryoji.kun 03:16, 27 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
The bit on Controversy still needs some citations, especially for the claim that some Christian schools perform the play and how other high schools ignore stage direction. Peter 12:43, 26 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Cleanup To Do

edit

The following issues have been identified as needed to help clean up this article to something better than Start class:

  • Article should be completely reformatted to fit style used in other musical articles. see Cats (Musical) for an example.
  • Some of the intro could be broken into other sections.
  • Some sections need to be rewritten. It currently has a "review" tone with subjective statements in places.
  • Synopsis needs to be extensively edited. It should be condensed to about five or 6 paragraphs at most to summerize the plot.
  • Article has practically no sourcing, especially in the opening parts. This needs to be fixed.
  • "Major Differences in London etc." should probably be condensed or merged

--Lendorien (talk) 15:43, 23 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

I've attempted major edits to this page, condensing info into sections similair to other musical articles. This included a production history section, background section, and Awards section. "Differences in London production" section and parts of the intro were merged into other sections. I added cite tags and added wiki-links to related articles. Still needs sourcing and a synopsis rewrite.--Lendorien (talk) 17:56, 23 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
Sourcing and tone is much improved thanks to another editor, though could possible use a little more. Main issue now is the synopsis. --Lendorien (talk) 15:10, 26 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Um... NO

edit

The current picture associated with the article is not appropriate. A relevant logo, professional CD cover or no mage at all. I have removed the photograph of the High School production, please do not restore it. 92.29.18.203 (talk) 20:51, 12 May 2010 (UTC)Reply
