  • Can we get a picture of the apartments BEFORE the plane crash, so the article is a bit more seperated from the crash? I mean, keep the picture after the crash and all, but move that by the crash section and get a nicer picture of the apartments to front the article about them. --Reportell 23:24, 11 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Fate of the Belaire Apartment

edit

I am wondering what's gonna happen to the apartment complex. Would the planecrash make the expensive residential building uninhabitable, or at least deter tenants from continuing their contract? Bestlyriccollection

Only nine units were declared off-limits until repaired. In fact, the surgery for Jason Giambi was speculated as possibly taking place at his surgeon's office in the building[1], implying that most of it remains in normal condition. It's a concrete building, so there was probably only localized structural damage. --Dhartung | Talk 00:32, 4 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

AfD?

edit

Oh yeah! Let's delete an article right when it's featured in a main story! There's perfect logic! NorthernThunder 07:07, 12 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Actually, this article isn't freatured on the Main Page. The article about the crash is.

AfD

edit

i don't think it should be deleted. it is now connected to the plane crash, death of a NY Yankee player, and even if that didn't happen, it is still informational about a building in NYC.

Keep the article

edit

I say certainly KEEP the article. How could anyone say its not relevant? I mean, is it hurting anyone being here? No. Those interested will read it, the few others will ignore it and we can all get on with our lives. I cant believe it was nominated for deletion in the first place. What intellectual snobbery! Michaelh2001 15:23, 12 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

It's logical to keep the article seeing as there is no legit reason to get rid of it. I don't see what exactly is wrong with any article on Wikipedia that doesn't lie, as long as it is a factual piece of information, it should stay on wikipedia. TostitosAreGross 20:39, 12 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

PLEASE let the Article Stay!

edit

Please keep this article because on October 11, 2006, Cory Lidle's plane crashed into the BelAire Building. It is important to know the history of the building, and to know what happened after the accident. This is an important article.

IMO, the article should stay, but should be revamped so it is not a copy of the main article. - GilliamJF 21:11, 12 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
Not exactly; I think a lot can be removed from the plane crash article if this one stays. We'd better keep that stuff there for now in case this article is deleted--all of that information would be lost. But after the AFD ends, I think I'll do that.--MrFishGo Fish 21:52, 12 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Floor count 50?

edit

Hello together,

in German wiki we have different information about floor count. It's from 42 till 52 - does anybody know the exactly floors? Sorry about my english, I am from germany. --Marcl1984 09:17, 13 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

According to the sources, the building has 50 floors. Note that in the US, the ground floor counts as the first floor. In Europe, the building would be described as having 49 floors because the ground floor is not numbered there. - GilliamJF 11:17, 13 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
Thank you, that helps a lot! --Marcl1984 11:42, 13 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Shouldnt the picture in the infobox be changed? The current is the one from the plane crash showing the smoke and damage..... Coasttocoast

Yeah, no kidding. We SERIOUSLY need a new picture for this article. The building no longer looks like that. That's from October of '06. It's August '08. 75.72.123.149 (talk) 09:04, 9 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
