Untitled
editAs you can see here, someone at the obituaries Google Group left the following message:
- "Vocalist Dakota Staton, 76, Dies"
The post does not cite any source or go into any details and is thus unverified. Nonetheless, don't be too surprised should Mrs. Staton's death be officially reported. Brief, uncited messages like this have been left there before and have turned out to be true. --From Andoria with Love 02:19, 13 April 2007 (UTC)

Birth name
edit- The second sentence of the article begins, "Born Aliyah Rabia..." The obit in the (Manchester) Guardian makes it sound like she'd chosen that name later on... Ramencity
- Updated this, citing the New York Times obit. which it seems is where the facts of that article come from. Dissolve 01:04, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
Jazz
editMany people know about jazz and who is involved in it. Most people think they know about jazz but inside the story they really don't know who was involved in jazz.
Think about Ella Fitzgerald, Dinah Washington, Gloria Lynne, Sarah Vaughan, Etta James, Nina Simone, Carmen McRae, Jack McDuff, Red Holloway Eddie Vinson, Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Dizzy Gillespie, Coleman Hawkins, Roland Kirk, Lionel Hampton,Teddy Wilson, and Ray Charles.
Have you heard of:
Lorez Alexandria Esther Phillips Dakota Station Bill Henderson Eddie Jefferson Marion Williams Carrie Smith O.C. Smith
If you haven't you will soon to find out or you need to look them up. If you have you know your music...
