New Exit List Table

edit

As you may have noticed, I have replaced the basic exit list with a more detailed table. This table is somewhat based on the State Road 408 (Florida) exit table and includes not only each interchange, but the tolls, major destinations (served by each exit), and other notes. Feel free to edit this table as needed; especially when dealing with the toll rates and plaza locations. Since I rarely drive this expressway, I do not know what the current toll rates are, other than the rates described in the summary. Much help with the tolls list will be appreciated. However, if there is something about the table that you do not like, please contact me with your proposal.

Also, If you have visited the State Road 618 (Florida) page recently, you may have noticed that I have placed a similar table in that article. Wslupecki 14:59, 20 August 2006 (UTC).Reply

The mileage on the table may need to be recalculated, since the south terminus is being extended to the TIA interchange. Wslupecki (talk) 03:03, 10 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Oops! I goofed!

The edit at 12:21, 27 August 2006 was a bit more minor than a 'minor edit'. But I was not able to stop the browser from completing the transaction. If anyone should question this issue, please contact me immediately. Wslupecki 12:26, 27 August 2006 (UTC).Reply

589 designation

edit

I heard that Sheldon Rd carried the FL 589 designation at one time. Is this true?

Tolls

edit

Not sure how you have been recording this, that table is very difficult to understand. But all I know is that I take the veterans from I-275 to Dale Mabry, and have to pay one 75 cent toll and one dollar toll, for a total of $1.75. Don't know if that helps. Rhythmnation2004 03:58, 25 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

I originally created the table as part of an expansion of the SR 589 article several months ago because I found the original exit list to be somewhat inefficient. Unfortunately for me, I do not commute on the Veterans except on an occaisonal basis. So I am not current on all of the toll rates for each exit. As a result, I am calling on other Wikipedians who may have better knowledge of the current toll rates to modify the table as needed. Wslupecki 21:24, 20 April 2007 (UTC).Reply

  • Also to note, where it says "...barrier toll" on the table, indicates a Mainline Toll Plaza. I hope that clarifies some issues there. All the other rates are for the ramp plazas (if there is a ramp toll). Wslupecki 21:26, 20 April 2007 (UTC).Reply
  • Can anyone clarify this for me please? If the cash toll rates for the three Suncoast Parkway mainline toll plazas are $1.00. Wouldn't the SunPass rate be 75 cents? Wslupecki 13:48, 29 May 2007 (UTC).Reply

Most of the Turnpike expansion projects, such as Polk Parkway, Vets, Suncoast and Seminole II, were not subject to the 2004 toll rate increase. Because they didn't get the increase, they didn't get the SunPass discount.Turnpike PIO 13:40, 1 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Exit Table Overhaul

edit

Because of some clarification issues, I will be performing a major overhaul with the exit list table over the next few weeks. Please note that the revisions will take a while. So if you see that the table is in worse shape than before the revision, do not worry. Many of the problems will be fixed during this time. If you have any questions regarding the exit table overhaul, please contact me via my talk page. Wslupecki 14:08, 10 May 2007 (UTC).Reply

Follow-up - 5/12/07: I have made several modifications to the table over the past couple of days, as you may have noticed already. I am trying to incorporate several templates from the Interstate 275 (Florida) exit table into the SR 589 table. There is still more work to be done before I am finished though. Suncoast Parkway Future Interchange Tolls

edit

Ridge Road Toll - 25 cents. Tolled ramps will be nb on and sb off (to and from the north)

Lutz Lake Fern Road--No toll. There is a NB on ramp toll and SB off ramp toll at Van Dyke (to and from the north) and a toll NB off and SB on at SR 54 (to and from the south) so Lutz Lake would be sort of like a zero point. For example, if you get on NB at Lutz Lake, unless you get off at SR 54, you would pay your toll at the mainline barrier at the Anclote Plaza. You could get off at Ridge Road with no toll, or SR 52 with no toll.156.75.180.210 19:35, 11 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

I can tell you this; Lutz-Lake Fern Road's interchange won't be a diamond interchange, but a pair of quater-cloverleaf interchanges. ---- DanTD 19:52, 11 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
I've known the about the interchange plan for Lutz-Lake Fern Rd for a while. I don't see how FDOT would even be able to place toll booths on that exit, it would make no sense to me. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Wslupecki (talkcontribs) 18:42, 12 May 2007 (UTC).Reply

Current plans are for a partial cloverleaf, and it will be SunPass-only. In fact, all new interchanges on Turnpike roads will be SunPass only, so there won't be a need for toll booths, just the gantry system similar to the ones on the Suncoast mainline. Turnpike PIO 14:05, 15 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

And I guess the Toll-by-Plate program will be expanded to SR 589 within the next few years as a result. I understand, that the program along the Selmon Expressway has been doing quite well thus far. Wslupecki 03:29, 17 May 2007 (UTC).Reply

Maybe way down the road, but it may likely require the other two expressways authorities in Florida to join the program as well. It works now because the Selmon is a self-contained system and doesn't connect with other tolled highways, so it is easier to control the program. To go statewide would be a massive effort.Turnpike PIO 12:08, 17 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, I can understand that. Especially the Miami Expressway Authority, being as large as they are, would probably have to take some time to even consider using the program. Wslupecki 13:55, 29 May 2007 (UTC).Reply

Red Level(not Crystal River) is the future terminus

edit

I just thought I'd remind the rest of you that the terminus that FTPK is planning for Suncoast Parkway is actually in Red Level, Florida, which is far north of Crystal River. In fact, it's almost near the end of the Cross Florida Barge Canal ---- DanTD 23:32, 7 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
