Fair use rationale for Image:ABBA - Happy New Year (Brazil).jpg

edit

Image:ABBA - Happy New Year (Brazil).jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Holiday Song

edit

I removed ", despite the fact that the subject matter of the song is not that of the holidays" given that "Happy New Year" is the title of the song and is mentioned twelve times during the song in every chorus, the video for the song is holiday themed, and the lyrics in general clearly relate directly to that holiday. cswpride (talk) 10:38, 1 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Am I alone in thinking that the "Ministry of Culture and Information, Socialist Republic of Vietnam" is possibly not a reliable source? Longwayround (talk) 10:27, 7 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

1980 release in Portugal

edit

It's wrong to say the English version wasn't released until the 90s. It saw a release in Portugal in 1980... http://www.45cat.com/record/2002069 Vauxhall1964 (talk) 01:25, 10 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

1980?

edit

Abbythecat (talk) 01:20, 2 January 2015 (UTC)I don't know when this song was recorded, but I wonder if 1980 is correct? If you listen to the lyrics, they say "who knows what lies waiting down the line, in another TEN YEARS time, at the end of '89". "Ten years" to 1989 means it was recorded in 1979, right? '79-'89, 10 years. 1980 plus "ten years time" would be 1990. They also sing "it's the end of the decade" -- decade ended in '79, not '80. So maybe this was recorded in '79...? Gold award not platinum

edit

It was awarded a gold disc in Denmark not a platinum one. Check from the link provided!

Where do you get the sales figures from? Awards for tracks are based on streams not sales. Coachtripfan (talk) 21:34, 25 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
