Herbal tea
editThe reference to herbal tea may be to Hibiscus sabdariffa (roselle), which is a crop plant in a minor way. I suspect that it is not the only species used in herbal teas. More details can be found at http://www.hort.purdue.edu/newcrop/morton/roselle.html.

Left/right significance of wearing behind the ear
editIn the "Symbolism and culture" section, the significance of whether a hibiscus flower is worn behind the left or right ear is just the opposite of what I had heard in French Polynesia. BMJ-pdx (talk) 18:30, 2 July 2023 (UTC)
