- Oppose Bangladesh was not formed in its current form till 1947, still we have History of Bangladesh - which covers from pre-History. We have History of Bengal, for the combined history. History of West Bengal (1947–present) should be treated as the history of the political entity West Bengal and summarized in this article, which covers the complete history.--Redtigerxyz Talk 13:48, 1 December 2024 (UTC)
- @Redtigerxyz Again, WP:COMMONNAME name of West Bengal refers to current state after 1947. Someone coming to History of West Bengal would probably be looking for the states history. ~/Bunnypranav:<ping> 14:00, 1 December 2024 (UTC)
- Note (History of Bangladesh After 1971) prehistory cleanup discussion; prehistory page already existed (History of Bengal before 1947), Before Bangladesh independence page (History of East Pakistan after 1947-1971). In the History of Korea page, there is no combined history. If there is a separate page, why do we need to combine history?

- Comment, it appears History of West Bengal (1947–present) was originally History of West Bengal, until that was moved and the bracket-less title reclaimed for pre-partition West Bengal last year. Confusing situation, that seems a bit duplicating. History of West Bengal (1947–present) should moved back to History of West Bengal, while this article merged with a combined West Bengal history article ("new" entities can have earlier history) or with History of Bengal (with "History of West Bengal" only being as it existed). We don't need two small-ish West Bengal history articles. DankJae 21:07, 5 December 2024 (UTC)
