Ken Westerfield's article.

edit

Hello, I am new to article writing and could use some help.

There is a tag on the top of my article that states clean-up and I've noticed that words are changing in my article. I'm not sure what I do now. When the clean-up is finished, will the acticle be accepted? or has it already been accepted and being cleaned up. Are there other improvements I need to make? Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated.69.92.9.174 (talk) 23:42, 7 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hi 69.92.9.174, yes, the article is already accepted and in main Wikipedia space - the whole world can see it now, and everyone is free to edit it, well or ill, whether they are registered with a user name (like me) or just editing from their IP address (like you). So change could well be constant.
As for the clean-up, the article currently does not have the tone of voice of an encyclopedia - sober, quiet, authoritative, with big dusty books full of dry evidence ready to hand. Ideally, every fact either is actually supported by an inline citation to a footnote, or could be if challenged. The article is arranged logically with section headings, and links to other Wikipedia articles wherever appropriate. At the end there is a list of books and websites mentioned in or helpful to the article. Good luck! Chiswick Chap (talk) 08:58, 8 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hello, Question, the clean-up tag is there to notify Wikipedia Editors that the article needs help and will disappear once the article is suitable?

I will continue to improve on the article and would appreciate any help. If you have the time could you point to specific areas that lack reference. Than I'll get to work.

As far as my writing style hopefully your editors will leave me with a good example. I would like to contribute more on the history of frisbee. Thanks againAudra454 (talk) 12:15, 8 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

yes, cleanup and similar tags alert people who like doing that kind of thing to work to be done. Then they sweep up the tags too. Chiswick Chap (talk) 16:01, 8 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

I suggest you include your status as an American draft evaded. That might put your our site as a "frisbee champion" in some perspective. Bev Carter (talk) 19:27, 13 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

The lead should summarise the body of the article. If what you say is true, you can add it to the lead once you have added it to the main body and properly sourced it as per WP:BLP. Best, Caius G. (talk) 22:11, 28 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Primefac: as you have already os'ed the article's history: does this qualify too?
