Lemma

edit

Why was the lemma changed from Kwan-li-so to Kwalliso? In most sources I read it as Kwan-li-so. --Neitram (talk) 07:03, 16 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Romanising as "kwalliso" is more accurate for the purpose of pronunciation; kwanliso is too literal. When you have consecutive consonants in Korean, in general the first is elided. See this reference The Sounds of Korean p 194 Manicurus (talk) 18:25, 17 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Closure of camps

edit

According to various sources I've read, both camp 15 and 18 are reported to have closed. Someone else has edited into the articles already.

Are the links of the closed camps supposed to be removed, or do they need to stay there until we get an official source?

Holocaust

edit

I have queried the text in the article regarding the "North Korean Holocaust" at the Human Rights in North Korea page.--Jack Upland (talk) 07:41, 20 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Updates on active camps

edit

This article talks about Yodok (camp 15) as being active and a new camp 17 in the Kaechon region. https://www.dailynk.com/english/north-korean-political-prison-camp-population-fallen-around-20000-compared-last-year/

We might need to update the article based on this. Thoughts? 2001:1C02:1E14:3900:259F:5F40:A349:6F1D (talk) 04:43, 3 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
