Can we get a quote from Floyd?

edit

Can we get a direct quote from Floyd for the claim that "littoral rainforest in Australia is mostly confined to the state of New South Wales, with the most northerly example at Fraser Island". Not only is that claim at direct odds with the Commonwealth Dpt. of Environment, it is at odds with the Queensland Dept. of Nat. Res. listings, at odds with my personal experience and at odds with common sense. I know that there are large areas of littoral rainforest throughout North Queensland: I've surveyed some of them for the DNR. It also makes little sense to suggest that North Queensland supports extensive areas of tropical rainforest and vine thicket right along the coast, but doesn't support even a single hectare of littoral rainforest.

I'm guessing that Floyd was referring to temperate littoral rainforest. It's certainly true that the temperate communities don't extend north of Hervey Bay. But to claim that there are no distinct rainforest communities on the dunes and headlands around Cairns or Slade Point is very puzzling.Mark Marathon (talk) 23:31, 13 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
