editMalvern, Great Malvern, the Malvern district, the Hills, and all the other Malverns, now make a rather complex collection of articles. I'm suggesting looking at merging some of this is some way or another. Best to reply on my talk page. Kudpung (talk) 09:34, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

- Hello Kudpung. I have re-added a link to the official MHDC TIC - it seems relevant to the page. I have left the link to the geocities Tenbury website. As the site focusses solely on Tenbury, I think this link is better placed on the Tenbury page (where it is already present), but it's not worth arguing about. GyroMagician (talk) 10:45, 21 May 2009 (UTC)
- Agreed. Thanks for the insight GyroMagician :)
I've also been editing and updating many other pages on places in the Malvern area; anything you can do to help would be much appreciated. Kudpung (talk) 13:27, 21 May 2009 (UTC)
- Agreed. Thanks for the insight GyroMagician :)
Civil parishes
editAl these villages in MHD need to included in the category Villages of Worcestershire. Many of these CPs already have their own Wiki pages, the red links show the ones that still need to be created. This page: of the Malvern Hills District Council gives the full list with links to the web sites of the parishes that have one. --Kudpung (talk) 10:47, 23 May 2009 (UTC)
- Um, I think I'm being slow. Where'd they go? GyroMagician (talk) 13:05, 23 May 2009 (UTC)
- No worries, I think the drop-down I created covers this now. But most of the stubs need coords. the bot will add the maps. More talk will be centralised if we get the Wocs project going.--Kudpung (talk) 10:53, 29 May 2009 (UTC)
Queenhill
edit"(Redirected from Queenhill, Worcestershire)". The only reference to Queenhill on the Malvern District page is in the long list of small parishes. This is rather useless when you want to know something about Queenhill--like does it exist? did it ever exist? Victoria County History does not included it.
--Oldontarian (talk) 10:49, 9 August 2015 (UTC)
Further to my query on Queenhill last week, I have now discovered that it is a former civil parish in the part of Worcestershire now known as the Malvern District. Discussion of it can be found in Victoria County History of Worcestershire, volume 4, section on Ripple and in A Vision of Britain through Time.
I leave it to someone more acquainted with Wikipedia and Worcestershire to write the article. --Oldontarian (talk) 14:07, 11 August 2015 (UTC)
- An article on Queenhill exists already. The spurious redirect has been deleted. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 21:41, 11 August 2015 (UTC)

1974–1998
editThis article deals with both the district that was formed in 1974 and the one that was formed in 1998. The legislation makes reference to the "existing" Malvern Hills district being abolished (5, 1) and (3, 1) a "new" district being constituted. The area covered by the former district was quite different namly areas now in Herefordshire that were part of the 1974 district as well as areas from Leominster district that became part of the new district. Compare City of York which was split out a few years ago with the "new" district from 1996 being the main scope in contrast Borough of Slough did have a boundary change but the legislation doesn't make reference to the 1974 Slough district being abolished. A new article at Malvern Hills District (1974–1998) similar to City of Glasgow (1975–1996) could be created with the current one staying at the current title. - As there have been no objections I have split. Crouch, Swale (talk) 20:26, 30 September 2024 (UTC)
