Notability

edit

Hello,@Melcous: you don’t think he fairly meets WP:DIRECTOR? And that what’s in the page (although still limited) shows enough to back this claim? As for other sources, sure, the page, as all pages, can be improved but I’d rather remove alleged (but certainly accurate) DOB and aspects of his personal life and the tag. The page being a start-class article is ...a start. Best, -My, oh my! (Mushy Yank) 16:33, 18 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Mushy Yank - it is difficult to search because of the common name, but yes, maybe the CSA nomination suggest notability despite the current poor sourcing and writing. Happy for you to remove the content you have suggested and the tag (and maybe cleanup all the redlinks if you can) and see what other sources are out there to confirm notability? Thanks Melcous (talk) 21:30, 18 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
Done, thanks for the reply.-My, oh my! (Mushy Yank) 22:49, 18 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Thanks to @Mushy_Yank and others for helping to make this article more accurate and more complete. For anyone interested in continuing to improve this article, I have many citations and info to provide. I will start by offering here a few citations for articles and interviews that cover my general career going back decades. I also have many citations for specific films, TV shows, awards, etc, but I can deal with them in another posting if there is interest.

Thanks. I added the ones I could verify (and some imply research after the link so they may be removed by other users who simply do a one-click check....). Wikipedia itself, your personal site, IMDb, Facebook and Instagram are not taken into account. Did my best. Maybe other users can help with the sourcing of the remaining awards. -My, oh my! I did what I could with the links you provided. I checked them all. While I believe the veracity of all 8 nominations, most of the links do not contain your name. -My, oh my! (Mushy Yank) 11:46, 28 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thanks again for your work. I will continue to try to find appropriate citations for everything. Meanwhile, I have looked at other articles on my peers, other film/tv directors. It seems common to use a table format for awards. I would prefer this if it is possible. I have so many nominations and awards (30 or more) I also think it is more readable and understandable if grouped by award type, (DGC awards/nominations, then Canadian Comedy Awards awards/nominations, then Gemini Awards awards/nominations, then Canadian Screen Awards awards/nominations, etc.) such as you can see in Norma Bailey's site, Norma Bailey, or Gary Harvey, Gary Harvey (director) or Sarah Polley, Sarah Polley. (I note that none of these have citations for every award or nomination). Little Bro Face (talk) 17:31, 29 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
