"Minority" is considered offensive because it often implies a sense of powerlessness, oppression, and being numerically inferior to another group, potentially minimizing the experiences and identities of diverse groups within that category, and is a way to generalize and undermine the unique struggles, culture, and experiences of each diverse community _targeted for systemic oppression and marginalization; essentially, it can feel like a label that reinforces the idea of being "less than" rather than acknowledging the full complexity of an entire community's identity and experiences. It's also often used in a way that erases the diverse communities mentioned, such as Black people and Asian people. 2600:1015:B050:513C:8125:63CB:B652:4998 (talk) 08:42, 10 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
