Merger discussion section
editI have merged the contents of the Renault Clio Rally4 and Renault Clio Rally5 articles into this one, as while a WP:BEFORE check shows that the subjects of those articles possibly just about pass WP:GNG, there is little to no evidence from a WP:PAGEDECIDE perspective that they are independently notable from the Renault Clio. Content was copied from those articles to this one at this diff and this diff. I wasn't originally planning to fully merge the articles, so I may not have followed ideal protocols for merging content. If so I apologise. HumanBodyPiloter5 (talk) 05:45, 22 July 2021 (UTC)
- I have corrected your WP:OR terminology per Talk:Hyundai i20 R5.
- If you believe the articles should be merged, especially given the disputes at WP:MOTOR, please form a WP:CONSENSUS by following WP:MERGE first before taking any further action.
- Per the discussion at WP:MOTOR, it seems that your were challenging at whether Renault Clio Rally4 and Rally5 are independently notable from each other, rather than the two independently notable from their base model. Renault Clio Rally4/Rally5 and Renault Clio are different topics.
- Since you have added more contents to the article, having separate articles would make more sense.
- While I really appreciate your WP:BOLD merger, I would like to revert it as per WP:BRD and above. Unnamelessness (talk) 08:45, 26 July 2021 (UTC)
- Reading the FIA regulations gives me the strong impression that the Rally 5 and Rally 4 cars have no inherent independent notability from the road going models, as they are quite explicit that these are just modified production cars, especially in the Rally 5 category. Looking up what further detail is available about the Clio rally car variants shows that they are essentially identical with the exception of a few small changes to comply with the different sets of regulations (primarily the turbo, suspension, and tyres).

- Maybe Rally5 cars are, but Rally4 cars aren't really (i.e. Ford Fiesta Rally4 from Junior World Rally Championship), which is why I point out at WP:MOTOR that the genuine dispute is that should Rally5 car have their own perspective article. Currently Fiesta Rally5 is AFDing, and as for Clio Rally5, I am okay if that article is merged to Rally4 (reference), but definitely not to its base model as Rally4 cars are significantly different from its base model. - Can you demonstrate how it's substantially different to the base model? All the sources I can find suggest that the Rally 4 car is a lightly modified version of the Rally 5 car (essentially just a bigger turbo and upgraded suspension), and that the Rally 5 car is in turn a modified version of the road going model. The Rally 4 Clio doesn't seem to be any more independently notable from the road-going Clio than the hatchback version of the Clio is from the estate car version of the Clio. They're all just variants of the same car. HumanBodyPiloter5 (talk) 12:25, 26 July 2021 (UTC)

- I have previously read through that document and do not believe it shows any evidence of the Rally 4 or Rally 5 variants of cars being independently notable (WP:PAGEDECIDE) of the road-going variants. They are different variants of the Renault Clio. In the same way that estate, saloon, hatchback, and coupé versions, or internal combustion engine and battery-electric versions of a car model would usually be grouped into a single article. Do the Ford-sourced dCi is really used in the Clio like in Peugeots and Citroëns? I have read that Renault stopped using diesels. OOOO fanboy (talk) 15:57, 10 November 2022 (UTC)
Article reads like an advertisement
editMuch of this article reads like an advertisement . I'm fairly new to editing and will be adding the (hopefully correct) template.
I decided to write this topic after reading the powertrains available and it gave flashbacks of dealerships showrooms 2605:A601:A184:7800:D1C0:F71:3AF7:7B34 (talk) 02:08, 4 April 2023 (UTC)
