Name
editThe Koninklijke Bibliotheek uses for its name on English language pages "Koninklijke Bibliotheek". Apparently, that should be conidered their name. Their main function is indeed National Library of the Netherlands. We could translate the name to "Royal Library", might even distinguish it as "Dutch Royal Library", but "National Library of the Netherlands" is not the ideal title for this page. - @Mysha: You are right. In English, the name should be Royal Library of the Netherlands. The library was granted the name and title 'Royal' by royal decree of two kings. King Louis granted it first in 1806 and King William I confirmed the name and title in 1815. Besides, using the name 'national library' would refer to it's origin during the Batavian Republic. It has been called Royal Library for 205 years by now. Investigating this history of this library when writing the history chapter on the Dutch language Wikipedia article, made this clear. The way the Royal Library of the Netherlands writes about itself on their English language web pages is conflicting at times. Clearly it was not written with the purpose of providing an academically founded name in English, but rather providing a popular promotional text. --oSeveno (User talk) 11:55, 20 February 2019 (UTC)
Number of library units
editHallo, I would like to ask you if is it true that the collection of library units of the Royal library of the Netherlands is 7 million or 24.3 million? I found the information on this web site where they write that the collection in 2018 consisted of 24.3 million physical copie ( page 11). In several language versions of Wikipedia is written number 7 million – which data are correct?
