"it has been dated to between 1041 and 1055": the precision is mysterious. The reason for the dating is of interest equal to the dates themselves. I surmise that "at some date during the earlier part of the reign of Edward the Confessor" has been given a spurious precision. --Wetman (talk) 15:01, 28 September 2012 (UTC)Reply
