Birthdate
editSources disagree on whether Ireland was born in 1986 or 1988. His biography on the official MCFC website describes him as 19 years old 1, as does the Manchester Evening News 2. However, the BBC says he was born in 1988, which would make him 17 3. Looking in my MCFC match programmes from this season also results in contradictions. Oldelpaso 19:34, 8 November 2005 (UTC)
- On further investigation, more recent club literature uses 1986, looks like a clerical error was responsible for the confusion Oldelpaso 13:06, 20 November 2005 (UTC)
Ireland
editI've changed all references to the national team to "Republic of Ireland", it gets a tad confusing otherwise. Oldelpaso 10:20, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
Up to whoever maintains this page, but I think it would be a lot more readable if references to the player were changed to "Mr. Ireland". I found it very difficult to scan as is. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.194.207.22 (talk) 10:07, 1 April 2009 (UTC)
Birthplace contradiction
editAt present the infobox and article contradict each other, the infobox stating he was born in Cork (city) and the article Cobh. As far as I am aware, Cobh is not within the City of Cork but IS within Metropolitan Cork. The article also states Cork (city) after Cobh but I am assuming this is a dab error and should be County Cork. Does anyone know which is correct? Caledonian Place 09:28, 7 April 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:StephenIreland2.jpg
editImage:StephenIreland2.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
Bullying
editIs it right to mention these rumours about the Irish team bullying where there is no proof. There is not even a link to a reliable source. The link is to a blog. Stephen Ireland, himself, has not mentioned of the rumours. The Irish team have denied the rumours. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.252.19.82 (talk) 06:11, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
agreed with above

Eligible to play for Italy and England
editThe article mentions in passing that Stephen is eligible to play for both Italy and England. It might be interesting to elaborate on that? Does Stephen have an English or Italian parent? Pnelnik (talk) 16:22, 30 March 2009 (UTC)
Birthplace
editBirthplace is CORK not COBH (http://www.mcfc.co.uk/Players/Midfielders/Stephen-Ireland). --Exorcist90 (talk) 20:07, 30 October 2009 (UTC)
Ireland name, Ireland country, Ireland Island, Ireland state,... just so you know, there are two counties on the island Ireland and Ireland has two international teams. Don't call the republic of Ireland... Ireland. Call Stephen Ireland Mr. Ireland. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.46.48.51 (talk) 19:26, 20 August 2010 (UTC)
