Not sure this is a horror film

edit

I've seen the film, more than once; I'm not sure at all it belongs in WikiProject Horror; it's not a horror film; more like a supernatural/mystical fantasy/revelation; ditto with Picnic at Hanging Rock if it's also listed in WP Horror.Skookum1 21:06, 12 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

  • No one answered you, so I'll take a stab. I've long subscribed to the notion that genre films can refer to hte broad spectrum of horror/fantasy/mythological/sci-fi films. THE LAST WAVE is certainly not a "monster" or "ghost" flick (if anything, the MacGuffin is the imminent, cyclical force of natural and supernatural elements) but the twist ending certainly instills a sense of dread or horror. The element of precognitive dreams and spiritual malaise is common to horror films. Until we have a wider, more encompassing Wikiproject dealing with le cinefantastique, I think this one suffices, and THE LAST WAVE qualifies. David Spalding (  ) 16:54, 14 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Created redirect page The Last Wave (film)

edit

Since the some guidelines dictate that film articles have the (film) suffix (or (YEAR film) for multiple versions), created a redirect to this page. No disambiguation seems necessary. And for the time being, why move this page? I've been argued into the dirt on The Wicker Man against moving it to The Wicker Man (1973 film) (redirect page) as there are many cult/classic films which qualify as being a "main topic page," that is, the most likely page a reader will be searching for. Comments or suggestions welcome. David Spalding (  ) 16:10, 14 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

P.S. I've loved this film since I saw it in first release, own the Criterion disc, any requests for fact chcking or material for the article, please leave a message on my Talk page. ;) ~Dbs

Fair use rationale for Image:Thelastwave1.jpg

edit

Image:Thelastwave1.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
