Risks?
edit- If not conducted carefully, sounding carries a risk of irritation, tearing of the urethra, or of urinary tract infection. Infections may become serious if they progress to the bladder or kidneys, and should be referred to a doctor.
- The insertion of foreign bodies into the urethra can present serious medical problems: see urethral foreign body insertion.

editCock and ball torture is a much more general topic, and this article is very short as is. This article would do better as a section in CBT's article, especially since it's directly referenced a few times within the article. puggo (talk) 16:32, 4 May 2019 (UTC)
- I strongly oppose such a merger. Such a merger would imply that urethral sounding occurs only or almost exclusively within the context of cock and ball torture. However, it can and does occur on its own. Pain is not the only aspect of urethral sounding; the activity can be a pleasurable one, on its own.
- The merger has about as much logic as proposing to merge pegging with erotic humiliation. Although pegging is often done in the context of erotic humiliation, or more broadly, within any BDSM context, it can be and is performed outside of such contexts. BirdValiant (talk) 19:42, 24 July 2019 (UTC)
