Complaint

edit

This is some serious Capitalist bullshit! It pits the workers against each other when the more significant problem is the oversupply of labor driving down everybody's wages...wage repression. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bdwomack (talkcontribs) 07:14, 29 May 2013(UTC)

Ordinary language

edit

Doesn't anyone write in ordinary English these days? I'm tired of finding Wikipedia articles that are not comprehensible to the average reader. One shouldn't have to do a google search just to understand the lead sentences of any Wikipedia article. By the way, a google search for "What is Wage compression?" gives much better results than reading this article. I would greatly appreciate it if Wikipedia editors would take scholarly and esoteric works and paraphrase them into ordinary language for everyday people to read in Wikipedia. The lead of this article would do well to have a rewrite. Here is a good starting point:

  • Stewart, Amy (May 30, 2020). "What is pay compression? How to address it and fix it". PayScale.

Income inequality

edit

In the following sentence: As wage compression increases, the gap between low and high income earners minimises, this also means that the pay gap between employees of different skill, education and experience level minimises, which can very quickly result what is known as income inequality.

Shouldn't an increase in wage compression lead to lower income inequality, among coworkers. Or is it referring to the lower cost for a company and thus income inequality between owners and employees? 80.112.148.241 (talk) 17:22, 21 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
