This added is depressingly unencyclopedic. The opening section has a few relevant sentences, but quickly jumps into an unnecessarily long list of retailers. This material would be perfect for a neighborhood directory but is out of place in an encyclopedia (especially considering the relatively quick turnover for a street like this.)
I will attempt to remove some of the redlinks (are we really ever going to have a full page dedicated to 18th street?) and work on culling the list to perhaps just notable local buisnesses, but would appreciate some help rewriting the section from anyone who knows anything interesting or encyclopedic about this street. You are right about not enough encyclopedic information. Also, there are certainly many interesting buildings, including some on national or Philadelphia historic buildings lists. Photos would be welcome, too, which I suspect may already be available over on Wikipedia Commons. --DThomsen8 (talk) 16:20, 26 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
