When used with the "Redirect category shell" (Rcat shell) template:
This page is a redirect. The following categories are used to track and monitor this redirect:
|
- Template {{Redirect category shell}} may be used to add one or more rcat templates, along with their parameters and categories, to a redirect. For more information, see the documentation page below.
When used by itself:
- From enacted legislation: This is a redirect from the alphanumeric form of enacted legislation to an article titled in an alternative form that corresponds directly with the enacted legislation's alphanumeric form.
- Use this rcat only on redirects that are in Wikipedia's main-article namespace, and only when the alphanumeric legislation has formally been enacted to law. If not enacted, use {{R from alternative name}} instead.
This template should not be substituted nor used to tag soft redirects. |
Usage
- This redirect category (rcat) template populates both Category:Redirects from enacted legislation and Category:Unprintworthy redirects by default. In 2003, efforts were begun to support the Wikimedia Foundation's goal of increasing access and availability of Wikipedia articles in printed versions. Redirects from enacted legislation are usually not suitable for a printed version. In other words, they are unprintworthy. See below for what to do for those few enacted legislation redirects that are printworthy.
Please do not alter the printworthy settings of this rcat without first notifying the Version 1.0 Editorial Team, who are responsible for any and all materials, including redirects, that go into a printed version of Wikipedia. |
- Add this rcat to a redirect (not a talk-page redirect) in the following manner:
#REDIRECT [[(_target article title)]]
{{Rcat shell|
{{R from legislation}}
{{R unprintworthy}}
}}
- Use the DEFAULTSORT magic word to ensure that the redirect is sorted in the categories by the proper sort key.
- Template {{Rcat shell}} is an alias for the Redirect category shell template, which may be used to add as many appropriate rcats as needed, usually from one to seven, along with their parameters, to a redirect. For more information see the documentation on its template page. This rcat may also tag a redirect individually:
#REDIRECT [[(_target article title)]]
{{R from legislation}}
{{R unprintworthy}}
- This is in accord with instructions found at WP:REDCAT.
- Use this rcat to tag any redirect from enacted legislation's alphanumeric name to its corresponding common name. If the redirect title is the legislation's long or short title, use {{R from long name}} or {{R from short name}} respectively instead.
- By default, this template categorizes a redirect as unprintworthy. To subdue this default sort and categorize enacted legislation as printworthy, use the unnamed parameter in the following manner:
{{Rcat shell|
{{R from legislation|1=printworthy}}
{{R printworthy}}
}}
- or the
1=
may be omitted:
{{Rcat shell|
{{R from legislation|printworthy}}
{{R printworthy}}
}}
- and if used individually:
{{R from legislation|printworthy}}
{{R printworthy}}
- That will subdue the default Unprintworthy redirects category and populate Category:Printworthy redirects.
