Baja California rock squirrel

The genus Otospermophilus has recently been revised. Douglas ground squirrel is recognised as a distinct species (previously a subspecies of the California ground squirrel). The Baja California rock squirrel however has been reduced to a subspecies of the California ground squirrel and should be named (O. beecheyi atricapillus). I've added O. douglasii to the template, but have not removed O. atricapillus, pending renaming and editing, or merging the article. Dwergenpaartje (talk) 15:57, 30 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
