Horizontal vs. vertical

edit
  Resolved

This doesn't fit very well in the side of the page. Maybe we could make it horizontal instead? --Jpbrenna 7 July 2005 21:11 (UTC)

I agreed, it should be horizontal and at the footnote. Further comments please. --Vsion 23:08, 28 January 2006 (UTC)Reply
I agree also. I removed it from WP:AWNB a while ago because it was so obtrusive. Actually, perhaps the category is enough?--cj | talk 08:03, 29 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Also agree, it's been years but it's clear we have consensus on this, now all we need is someone with the technical skills to implement it. Or at least add an option to float the sidebar to the left instead of right. -- œ 06:33, 20 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

I have created a horizontal version over at Template:Regional Wikipedian notice boards. A separate version was created so that pages that expected a vertical version won't break. --Bxj (talk) 21:12, 2 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Well, if you guys like the horiz. version, we could deprecate the vert. version so that we only have to maintain one template. What do you guys and gals think? --Bxj (talk) 03:58, 3 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Removal of category tag

edit

I have removed the "[[Category:Regional Wikipedian notice boards]]" on this page. There are two reasons for this:

  1. Using this template places a list of RWNB's on the page that uses it. That does not necessarily mean that the page is a notice board, nor that it is about notice boards. So it does not necessarily belong in the category.
  2. The category tag did not put the page into the category list with proper alphabetization. Thus, pages that wanted to be listed correctly needed to have their own category tag, making the one here redundant.

Regarding the second issue: I checked, and all but three notice boards (Australian, Caribbean, and Greek) had their own category tags. I have added category tags to these three pages. Now all notice boards are listed in the category, in alphabetical order.

Well done! -- Visviva 00:58, 17 August 2005 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. By the way, I should clarify: when I said, "all notice boards are listed", I meant all notice boards previously in the RWNB category. I suppose there might be others lurking out there somewhere. — Nowhither 05:03, 17 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

Surrounding border(?)

edit

From the src code for this template it seems that it should have a surrounding border(?). This doesn't show in my browser. Is there something wrong with the latter, such as non-compliance with HTML standards, or is the src code faulty? --Wernher 15:46, 19 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

It doesn't work for me in IE. However, I've seen it before in Firefox on another computer. Is there a way to make it work universally?--Cyberjunkie | Talk 03:34, 20 September 2005 (UTC)Reply
It should now work in IE. El T 08:54, 18 October 2005 (UTC)Reply
I forced a grey border a while back. I've switched it to black now.--Cyberjunkie | Talk 09:10, 18 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Zondor's toolbar

edit

I find the inclusion of Zondor's toolbar between <noinclude> tags confusing. Why is it here, wouldn't a link suffice, a category at most? Shouldn't people keep their own nav tools open of their own accord? Why not add Zondor's toolbar to every page? Please discuss at Zondor's toolbox User talk:Zondor/Toolboxes here 06:04, 16 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Something is wrong

edit

On this page, the link to the Romanian page works just fine, but on the Romanian page itself, the link is not there. See what I mean: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:Romanian_Wikipedian%27s_notice_board&action=submit

Can someone help? --Anittas 11:13, 7 December 2005 (UTC)Reply
