Dan Râșcanu, Romanian, German and especially European citizen.
I was born in Bucharest on March 19, 1958. My father's family, Râșcanu/Miclescu, comes from Moldova, refugees from Iași (Iassy) to Bucharest in 1940 during the Soviet occupation from June-July. My mother's family with German and Russian origin, Baron von Stempel/Ostroumov, flew from Yalta (Crimea) to Romania, after the Bolshevik coup d'état from 1917.
I graduated the High School of Architecture in Bucharest and studied architecture at the Ion Mincu Institute of Architecture, also in Bucharest. After the marriage and the birth of our son, we emigrated to Germany in 1990. My wife and I both worked as freelance or employees architects until our retirement in 2022.
