Deryck Chan began editing Wikipedia in 2004 editing mainly articles relating to chemistry, computing and places in Hong Kong. He became an administrator of the English Wikipedia in March 2007. He is an administrator open to recall.

He had the privilege of being the first editor to voluntarily return the Interface Administrator flag when the user right and its associated policies were set up in 2018.

Real-life family members who are also Wikimedia editors include emkfchan and lhlconnie.

As a human being, Deryck makes mistakes, and occasionally changes his own point on view as he grows in life experience.

This page is purely about Deryck's involvement with the English Wikipedia. For a longer biography about Deryck and his Wikimedia involvements, please visit Deryck's user-page on Meta.
