Explanation of name

edit

As the current Wikipedia article states:

  • "By its nature, the blunderbuss is not a very precise weapon."
  • "The blunderbuss has become a byword for inaccurate marksmanship in any field, and the word itself has also come to mean a clumsy or stupid person."

However, there's another side to it:

  • "A blunderbuss can fire multiple rounds simultaneously, and generally discharges its entire load at once."
  • "It was more effective when the goal was not to hit a specific _target, but rather any one of multiple _targets."

So the name carries the double meaning: I'm generally not very articulate, but when I come through, it's in a big way.
