Hi! I am Jeanine. I am a professor at Georgetown University and my course, Communication, Theory and Frameworks is part of the Wikipedia U.S. Education Program. My students will be developing pages associated with communication theories that we are studying. I study the use of communication technologies within organizations.

For the past three semesters, my classes have been adding to Wikipedia as part of graded element of the course. While the students are learning the specifics associated with editing Wikipedia pages, they are also gaining insights into what it means to work within a virtual team. Student's concerns about making changes to someone else's work and learning the norms associated with doing it are providing interesting insights into what it means to work online collaboratively.
