Dinosaur articles
editHi CFLeon, I was working on Monoclonius today, and noticed it was in a lot better shape than when I had last left it a few days ago. Checking the edit history, I noticed your edits, which are quite welcome and of obvious high quality. Your edit history also shows a pattern of editing many dinosaur aticles. With that in mind, I thought I'd invite you to join Wikipedia:WikiProject_Dinosaurs, a project that develops the Wikipedia articles on dinosaurs. You're not on our modest list of members, but would be, I can see from your edits, a welcome addition. I hope you'll consider it, because you would be a big boon to our group. Take care, --Firsfron 01:57, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
- Saw your name added to the list of members. Welcome. :) --Firsfron of Ronchester 04:06, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

Aku-Aku
editFYI: Aku-Aku is by Thor Heyerdahl; you mistakenly added it to Ivan T. Sanderson. - DavidWBrooks 23:25, 30 May 2006 (UTC)

The Beatles (Cartoon Series)
editThanks for the suggestion. I had a quick look at Google and found some interesting stuff. As we at Wikipedia:WikiProject The Beatles are always keen to get new input, could I ask if you would like to write the article? Please make your answer known at Talk:The Beatles. We also have a project, if you are inclined to become a member.LessHeard vanU 12:04, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
crocodilian.com
editIf you want to add alink to this generic crocodilians site, either do it on crocodylus or crocodylidae, or link to a page in the site that specifically discuss the Cuban Crocodile. Otehrwise, it is considered link spam. Circeus 01:15, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
- You obviously have never been to the site, then. There are pages for each particular species. It is THE website for ANYTHING to do with Crocodilia. A bit poor on the evolution of the group, perhaps, but I challenge you to find any site that's better. CFLeon 01:25, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
- I am not complaining about the site itself. I am merely observing that the page you link to has nothing to do specifically with the species you link from. Searching the site for an appropriate page to link to is not my duty, it's yours to do before linking. Circeus 02:09, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
Have you even so much as read my comments above and Samir's under? Circeus 02:35, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
- Have the courtesy to answer my question, I asked first. WHAT DO YOU HAVE AGAINST THE SITE? Maybe they don't pay you scratch? CFLeon 02:59, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
Hey CFLeon, a couple of things,
- I changed the crocodilian.com link to the Cuban Crocodile subpage.[1]
- Probably not necessary to use a test template on User:Circeus's page; he's an administrator and a reasonable guy and it would be easy just to talk to sort things out.
Thanks and hope that the above meets with your approval -- Samir धर्म 01:39, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
- Please let me be more frank. Do not place warning templates on Circeus's page for removing spam. It is not the correct use for them. Instead, discuss the issue on talk pages. Thank you -- Samir धर्म 02:43, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
- "a reasonable guy"? then why does he keep on showing bias against the link, to the point of following me and reverting the edits? Sounds more like either a personal bias or a conflict of financial interests to me. "Reasonable people" don't keep on reverting edits without the courtesy of reply.
To you, Samir: thanks for the direct link, but a couple of points:
- I find all the time links on Wiki pages to the home page of a site. Thought it was the way Wiki did things, and I agree with this. I personally prefer to be directed to the home page of a site unless it's some general thing like Straight Dope. or Wiki itself. I have the homepage bookmarked, and I give the average reader enough credit to find things on their own once they find the site, especially when there's a Table of Contents. (You want "linkspam"? Try some of the entries which list every page on a site, even when there's several on the same site.)
- The guy has just been rude to me personally. That's NOT "reasonable", and I respond in type.
- Oh, and when did he ever talk about the deletions on a Talk page?
- I'll keep on reverting his edits until Doomsday until he shows me some courtesy. CFLeon 02:59, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
James Madison DeWolf
editJames Madison DeWolf has been proposed for deletion. An editor felt this person might not be notable enough for an article. Please review Wikipedia:Notability (people) for the relevant guidelines. If you can improve the article to address these concerns, please do so.
If no one objects to the deletion within five days by removing the "prod" template, the article may be deleted without further discussion. If you remove the prod template, the article will not be deleted, but if an editor is still not satisfied that it meets Wikipedia guidelines, it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. NickelShoe (Talk) 18:42, 22 July 2006 (UTC)
- I think there's enough general interest in Custer's battalion to warrant the inclusion of bios of the officers and staff. Many are significant enough to be included in the popular Find-a-Grave website, including DeWolf. Scott Mingus 19:30, 30 July 2006 (UTC)

editI think you had better explain yourself on Talk:Malware, where it appears, judging from your edit summary, that you were alleging that I had an "economic conflict of interest". Please keep WP:NPA and WP:NLT in mind in your explanation. --FOo 07:02, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
Luna 9
editI saw your change about Luna 9 soft landing on the Soviet space program page. Both Luna 9 and List of space exploration milestones, 1957-1969 both say that Luna 9 soft-landed, so do you want to correct it on those pages (and explain the difference)? Thack you. Hi CFLeon!
I'm planning to send Stegosaurus to Featured Article candidacy. The article failed its first nomination, but user:Casliber and I have been hard at work fixing stuff. As you're listed as a member of Wikipedia: WikiProject Dinosaurs, I figured I'd drop you a line and see if there was anything you thought should be added/removed/cited on the article before it is sent to FAC. We definitely want it to pass! :)
(Feel free to make any edits on the article itself, comment on the talk page, or leave a note on my talk page). Thanks for your time, Firsfron of Ronchester 19:26, 26 October 2006 (UTC)

Dragon Tails
editI understand your distress. First of all, I played only a small part in this matter- Publicola was the one who made the redirect and TexasAndroid was responsible for the protection of the article, I just closed the debate. However, I have dealt with this sort of thing plenty of times before, so there is no problem contacting me about it. The last version of the article on the webcomic before the reversion to a redirect can be seen here- it wasn't actually deleted. That said, it did not assert notability as is required per the appropriate guidelines, and so it was lucky to come to AfD at all- normally, it would just be speedy deleted under criteria A7. If you show me sources proving that the webcomic meets the notability guidelines for web content, I will talk to TexasAndroid for you, and arrange to have an article about the web comic placed at that title. However, until that time, any such article would be deleted/reverted on sight by any administrator. J Milburn 19:55, 26 October 2007 (UTC)

Hōei eruption of Mt. Fuji
editYou made a minor edit to Mount Fuji; but, as far as I know, your data is incorrect. If I'm the one who is misinformed, so much the better. This is how Wikipedia evolves. If your reference source is persuasive, I'll not only restore your edit -- I'll also modify Hōei eruption of Mount Fuji accordingly.
If volcanic eruptions are of interest to you, perhaps you'll want to scan the following:
- Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Japan#Renaming 1703 Genroku earthquake?
- Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Disaster management#Renaming 1703 Genroku earthquake?
FYI -- this is my first edit of 2008. Happy new year. --Ooperhoofd (talk) 17:14, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
- Whoops. I've discovered that the Hōei eruption of Mt. Fuji began on December 16, 1707 and ended on January 1, 1708 -- ergo, your edit was correct. You were quite right to catch this relatively trivial mistake; and my hat's off to you. Maybe I can apologize for my mistaken revert by sharing a link to a Shizuoka University web page which confirms that your edit was correct. As it happens, my 19th century French translation of a 17th century Japanese reference source was correct as well; but -- critically -- I misinterpreted the full meaning of a terse French sentence because I neglected to take into account its broader, extra-textual context....Click link for dates of Hōei eruption of Mt. Respect Threads, showcase scans of feats performed by comic book characters and have gained an audience on several comic book message boards. While its appreciated that you are cleaning up the list some, if an article has been done, please actually remove it from the list, do not just mark it as done. If the requested name is appropriate, a redirect should be created. -- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 00:56, 26 November 2008 (UTC)
- BTW, if you want to conserve more talk space, you might want to look into talk page archiving :) -- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 01:11, 26 November 2008 (UTC)
- Okay, enough. You've been asked to following the existing guidelines and editing method of that list, but you continue to ignore it and then revert a clean up of unnecessary requests. That, your lack of a response here, and your refusal to use edit summaries leaves me no choice but to consider your edits in bad faith. -- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 01:32, 27 November 2008 (UTC)
Please help
editThank you for your articles about islands in the sunda strait - could you please help by adding categories and project tags as I have just done - it would be much appreciated if you could do that as it helps keep track of new articles - thanks SatuSuro 01:29, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
Also if you are citing a book - to actually use page numbers and citation methods - would help - as at the moment - just a book ref and comments in text with no specific lead as to where from in the book - could lead an editor to put the citations tag on the article asking for where you got the info - effectively a follow up of WP:V related to WP:RS - thanks SatuSuro 01:33, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
As a rule of thumb - please do not create stubs and leave them without category and project tag - or reference - you have the material - please help the Indonesia project by creating more complete stubs SatuSuro 01:51, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
There is now a category - Sunda Strait - please add this to any other articles you may have created that I have not found - thank you SatuSuro 02:05, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
I see you are on at the same time - trust the requests above are ok with you? SatuSuro 23:36, 8 January 2009 (UTC)

Krakatoa in media and popular culture
editYoure on your own with that - I have separated the other material - and started a category - but hey I am not a supporter of 'in popular culture' arts - I would think it deserves a cleanup SatuSuro 00:50, 14 January 2009 (UTC) Also it would be very useful if you could actually use talk - it is almost impossible to know what you are up to if you remain silent during the various changes that I have initiated - cheers SatuSuro 00:57, 14 January 2009 (UTC)
Oh hell - Sunda Strait is for the articles re the places - and Krakatoa the actual explosion - unless the arts are tied in with refs other than furneaux (redundant ref) like simkin and fiske with specific aspects of the explosion and events - I'd rather keep the two - one does not duplicate cats - parent and child categories together is v bad practice. problem SatuSuro 01:27, 14 January 2009 (UTC)
The talk page at krak at pop culture needs to be attended to - as it is i know some eds would delete without question - if you could cleanup and find refs it could go back in - but pop cult entries are go nowhere deadends - lack of RS is a serious issueSatuSuro 01:28, 14 January 2009 (UTC)
Also getting any of the islands out of Category:Indonesia articles missing geocoordinate data would be very useful SatuSuro 01:31, 14 January 2009 (UTC)

Dear WikiProject Video games member,
You are receiving this message because you have either Category:WikiProject Video games members or {{User WPVG}} somewhere in your userspace and you have edited Wikipedia in the recent months.
The Video games project has created a member list to provide a clearer picture of its active membership.
All members have currently been placed in the "Inactive" section by default. Please remove your username from the "Inactive" listing and place it under the "Active" listing if you plan on regularly:
- Editing video game-related pages in the Article namespace
- Participating in video game-related discussions in the Project namespace (WT:VG, WP:AfD, WP:GAN, etc.)
Ideally, members are encouraged to do both, but either one meets our criteria of inclusion. Members still listed inactive at the beginning of November 2009 may be removed. You may re-add yourself to the active list at any time. Thank you for your help, and we look forward to working with you.
Alphabetizing taxoboxes
editHello, CFLeon;
Thank you for working on the taxoboxes. I think it would make sense if you'd omit type species from alphabetizing; it just seems fitting to have the type species first, as it is the name-bearing species. Thank you for your time! J. Spencer (talk) 02:16, 15 June 2010 (UTC)
- That was my first inclination, but many pages don't give the type information and I got tired of the inconsistancy from page to page and just started doing it all the same way, even when the type is shown. I don't mind showing the type first, if it is indicated that it is the type and it is consistant from page to page. Although then, to be consistant, then you probably should then put the species listing in chronological order (which, to be fair, many pages do attempt to do), and with many fossil species that becomes too complex for the taxobox. Whichever system is being used, it does need to be clear to a casual reader, and as things stand, it often is not. CFLeon (talk) 00:15, 17 July 2010 (UTC)
Edit summaries
editI have noticed that you often edit without an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This is considered an important guideline in Wikipedia. Even a short summary is better than no summary. An edit summary is even more important if you delete any text; otherwise, people may think you're being sneaky. Also, mentioning one change but not another one can be misleading to someone who finds the other one more important; add "and misc." to cover the other change(s). Thanks! mgiganteus1 (talk) 22:42, 21 June 2010 (UTC)
- Yes, I probably should fill out the boxes more often, but my time online is spotty, and my connection often craps out. Guess what! You can't fill in the box after the edit is made, so if the connection is interrupted- no info in the box. Most of my edits are self-explanatory, so I often don't bother with those that are. CFLeon (talk) 00:15, 17 July 2010 (UTC)
Iguanodontia etc.
editHi CF, thanks for clarifying. My main concern was with Parvorder, as this appears to be totally unsourced and was probably added by a too ambitious editor a while ago and was never reverted. It's a good idea to have the pages agree, and a project currently in testing stage over at Talk:Taxobox is attempting to automate all the taxoboxes so they're automatically generated based on a centralized taxonomy. However, we do need to be careful not to get into OR territory, and have to accept that the Taxonomy and Phylogny sections will never agree because they're based on two totally distinct systems, and any exceptions to that need to be sourced. It also doesn't help that right now definitions of even clades are arbitrary and vary from source to source. MMartyniuk (talk) 02:41, 15 July 2010 (UTC)

Colossi of Memnon
editHello
Back in 2009, you added a large section to the article Colossi of Memnon, about the sounds made by the colossi. This section was removed a few months ago as it was suspected to be a copyright violation from here. Can you explain where the text came from? JudgeDeadd (talk) 20:27, 31 December 2014 (UTC)
- I've now restored your text; I'd like to apologize for any accusations of copyright violation. However, if you still have access to the books you used as sources, it would be useful if you added some inline citations into the section. JudgeDeadd (talk) 11:55, 6 January 2015 (UTC)

The article Fantastic Animation Festival has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
This article has no reliable sources.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. » Shadowowl | talk 20:00, 13 July 2018 (UTC)

Between the Wars (documentary series) moved to draftspace
editAn article you recently created, Between the Wars (documentary series), does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. noq (talk) 10:33, 26 August 2020 (UTC)
