Your Premature Deletion

edit

I'm sorry, but this is ridiculous. Deleting the Baltimore's Marching Ravens page for plagiarism? I'm the copy editor for the band, and that content is being used on several pages. I don't think I need your permission to do that, for two reasons: it's OUR content to do what we want with, and Wikipedia is NOT considered an academic source so why it needs all original content to be considered relevant is beyond me. I'm interested to hear your reasoning here. User:Jgaffney at 016:49, December 19, 2007 —Preceding comment was added at 21:50, 19 December 2007 (UTC) Reply

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button   located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Vandalism warnings regarding Elmo

edit

Hi. I noticed a couple of warnings you issued today, to 72.235.68.104 and 24.60.218.3, apparently for vandalism to Elmo today. You also reported 24..60.218.3 on AIV for vandalism to Elmo. Looking at the changelog for Elmo it doesn't seem that either of those anons (or indeed anyone else) has edited Elmo today and, in fact, the article has been semiprotected since 27th November anyway. I see you're using Twinkle. Is there a bug in it, leading to spurious warnings being placed? Tonywalton  | Talk 14:54, 29 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Gotcha. It's worth remembering though that these are shared IP addresses; the person using that IP address for vandalism two or three days ago may well not be the person using it today, or in six weeks time if no-one's using that address today. In the case of 24..60.218.3 they just got themselves blocked anyway, for this. Cheers Tonywalton  | Talk 15:22, 29 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Your Rfa

edit

I just wanted to wish you good luck on your Rfa. Your probably won't succeed in it, but don't let that get your spirits down. My Rfa was rejected, however, I plan on running again sometime. Good luck!! Dustihowe (talk) 18:11, 29 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Your recent RfA

edit

I'm sorry, but I've closed your Request for adminship prematurely. Simply put, you've only got 142 edits on Wikipedia; while edit count isn't the only determining factor, and numerous people have their own personal standards that they judge RfA candidates by, there was no chance that the RfA was going to pass.

I'm sorry about this, and hope you don't take it personally. If you continue to contribute to the project in a positive fashion, I'm confident that you could possibly run a successful RfA in the future. You may want to consider submitting yourself to Wikipedia:Editor review for feedback on where to get some good experience, and when you're ready for RfA again, there's a great Wikipedia:Admin coaching program for you to use, as well as a guide to requests for adminship.

If you have any other questions about becoming an administrator, please don't hesitate to ask me. Good luck! EVula // talk // // 19:23, 29 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Heterogeneous (chemistry)

edit

A tag has been placed on Heterogeneous (chemistry) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. I've restored this article you tagged since although the article was previously deleted through AfD on the grounds of notability, two high-quality references demonstrating notability have since been published, and were added to the article. I therefore advised the original article creator that re-creating the article would be perfectly fine. Tim Vickers (talk) 18:48, 28 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

ACC Request Confirmation

edit

I have requested an ACC account on the toolserver. Dalekusa (talk) 20:49, 29 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for applying to access the account creation tool. I have approved your request so welcome to the team. You may now access the tool here. Before you do so, please read the tool's guide to familiarize yourself with the process. You may also want to join #wikipedia-en-accounts on IRC where a bot informs us when new account requests come in as well as the mailing list.
Currently you are allowed to create up to six accounts per day (a day being from 0:00 UTC to 23:59 UTC), although you won't be able to create an account with a similar name to that of another user; these requests are marked "Account Creator Needed". However, if you reach the limit frequently, you can request the account creator permission at WP:PERM.
Please keep in mind that the ACC tool is a powerful program, and misuse may result in your access being suspended by a tool administrator. Don't hesitate to get in touch with me if you have any questions. Thank you for participating in the account creation process. Again welcome! ---- Александр Дмитрий (Alexandr Dmitri) (talk) 21:20, 29 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

The logo gallery on the CITV article is acting very strange. Can you help me with this? Dalekusa (talk) 19:35, 14 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

All of the images except one in the gallery have been deleted, so that's why nothing was showing up in most of the boxes. Since the remaining image is already used in the article's infobox, I removed the entire section. Please let me know if there are any more questions. Thanks! --Mysdaao talk 19:49, 14 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

What should I do?

edit

{{helpme}}

I'm having problems with another user, IamaelandLuigi21, who keeps adding that Geo is Milli's cousin, and now simply her "friend", in the Team Umizoomi article. The official website says that Geo and Milli are siblings. I've reverted his edits twice in the past 24 hours, and after the second revert, I left a message on his talkpage.

1. If I revert again, does this count as a violation of the 3RR?

2. What further actions should I take?

If you consider the edits vandalism, then reverting vandalism does not count towards the three-revert rule. In this case, because it doesn't look like we can be certain it's vandalism, reverting the same edit on the same page within a 24 hour period would be a violation of 3RR and would be considered edit warring. I suggest you warn the user with {{uw-3rr}} and continue to try to discuss the issue with IsmaelandLuigi21 like you have tried to do. If you see the user breaking 3RR by reverting your reversions, you can make a report at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring. Please let me know if there are any more questions. Thanks! --Mysdaao talk 17:58, 19 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Why did you erase Dora canceling in 2015? --24.170.75.206 (talk) 15:48, 19 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Because there is no evidence. If you have an article or document that is publicly available, you may add that information back and add a source reference. Wikipedia is not for speculation or assumptions, but for verifiable facts. Dalekusa (talk) 15:57, 19 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Watch this video to see if that's true when Dora is canceled. [1] --24.170.75.206 (talk) 18:58, 19 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Sorry, but a reaction video is not a reliable source. If you can find an actual news article or press release, then the edit can stand. Otherwise, it is original research, which is not allowed on Wikipedia. Dalekusa (talk) 20:49, 19 August 2014 (UTC)Reply
