editThanks for your help I am green and must be annoying, but I want to fix all the Cambodia/Cambodian-American articles, as I taught there for two years and have a good idea of what Wikipedia needs to represent. I am working on shortening the list of notable Cambodian Americans now. Agiambrone (talk) 18:02, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
- No problem I had exact same problem trying to submit something for deletion recently and someone rescued me... I'm green here but have worked on wiki format elsewhere before - you seem to be having some problems with bits of wiki editing (previous message was in middle of someone elses comment box till I moved it). Do try checking things with 'Show Preview' before saving it - then if they aren't coming up as you thought they would try and adjust. -Hunting dog (talk) 18:14, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
Thanks I'm getting the hang of it slowly. I will preview this one to make sure it looks right. Check out my editing of List_of_Cambodian_Americans and let me know if I edited it according to accepted policies. 18:20, 25 May 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Agiambrone (talk • contribs)
- You didn't break anything on the formatting, which is always good! But I'm not qualified to say it the people removed are notable or not. I'd recommend introducing yourself on Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Cambodia and /or starting a discussion on Talk:List_of_Cambodian_Americans so people know you're acting in good faith. Deleting things without showing why you're doing it is what tends to get you reverted as vandalism. As I'm only a couple of weeks older than you on here please don't assume I'll know correct answer to everything... (but try to get the hang of signing your posts with the four tildes thing it says to do - do you have problem finding that on your keyboard?) -Hunting dog (talk) 18:37, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
Lucy in the sky
editWell done in noticing that it was a copyright infringement. You could have nominated it as Wikipedia:Criteria_for_speedy_deletion as it is a blatant copyright infringement. Or you could Be bold and simply revert it. These are just tips for the future. But keep up the good work and feel free to ask me any questions. Ziphon (ALLears) 08:13, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks! :) If the copyrighted info had been the initial content, I would have gone for Speedy, wasn't quite sure as it had prior history. Favoured deletion over revert as the redirect didn't look that useful and being there might be more likely to encourage the band advertising to slip back in! Not being 100% sure I went discussion....-Hunting dog (talk) 08:20, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
Dental Nurse
editThanks for your help with the dental nurse page. I have put the word out to other dental nurses who can beef up the page with more relevent data/material. --Dentalnurse1 (talk) 14:47, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

editSorry I tagged those. I'm not trying to hurt the newcomers, either. I'll be more careful. Thanks for the heads up, and help me along the way (I'm still a noob myself, kinda) -- Mr. E. Sánchez Wanna know my story?/ Share yours with me! 21:26, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

Uncategorized talk page
editI was using AutoWikiBrowser and I guess I didn't turn off the option where it would add the category and make the other adjustments it did. Thanks for pointing it out, I'll be able to avoid it in the future. Happy editing! --Nehrams2020 (talk) 07:09, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
Hello, Fellow de-orphaner!
editI noticed you added your name to the list of participants in WikiProject Orphanage. We really appreciate your help! The first things you could do to get started with us are:
- Read the Wikipedia:WikiProject Orphanage page, especially the section marked "Criteria". The page contains a lot of good advice to get you started, as well as the standard procedures we are using to de-orphan articles.
- Look at {{orphan}},{{do-attempt}}, and {{articleissues}} closely and make sure you know how to use them correctly. (It's not difficult, but it is easy to screw up. Trust me, I have.)
- Keep de-orphaning! Category:Orphaned articles contains all orphaned articles organized by month. Right now we're just trying to keep up with all the new orphans being created, so please start with the current monthly category. Once those are cleared out, we can start working on the backlog in reverse-chronological order.
- Of course, you may have already known all of this, in which case sorry for the spam. Either way, let me know if there's any way I can help you contribute more to the project!--Aervanath lives in the Orphanage 03:20, 10 July 2008 (UTC)
- Friendly spam is fine :) I've found most of that stuff previously but have been wary of using {{do-attempt}} as suspect other people might have more success with the article (or be more brutal than me and want to put it up for deletion). So far I'm afraid I'm cherry picking articles that are either easy to de-orphan or very obvious deletion candidates, and leaving rest to more experienced editors.-Hunting dog (talk) 08:32, 10 July 2008 (UTC)
Hi. No - you didn't tread on any toes :-) If I recall, I came across the article as I was going through uncategorised articles. Since the author seemed to be asking for help in getting his first Wikipedia article up to standard, I just jumped in with my opinions as to how it could be improved. Personally, I doubt the notability of the person - as I mentioned on he author's talk page - but they can't say they weren't given the opportunity to develop the article. I've no problems with it being AfD'd - and thanks for the update :-) CultureDrone (talk) 07:03, 10 July 2008 (UTC)
Dave McRae
editHey Hunting Dog, I just wanted to mention to you, that I disagree with your nomination in deleting Dave McRae's article. I think you're right however, it does need to be re-written, but i don't think it needs to be deleted. There are far too many worse articles that can kick the bucket than this one. If you look into this guys work on his site, he seems to be pretty credible. It would be a shame to lose it. Re-write, not delete. bobbydog96 (talk) 12:38, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
cheers BobbyDog96.
Watercolor artwork mixed with black ink
editHunting dog, that's watercolor and black ink.Bunsoy (talk) 07:24, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
- It also has a strong (and illogical) impasto effect not usually obtained with watercolour - but often generated by image manipulation filters. There is also no positive reason why that painting should be included in the article. As you seem to be particularly interested in Mr Fadul - I would suggest you might not be the best person to decide if that image should be included in the Watercolour article - anyway please discuss the matter with all editors at Talk:Watercolor_painting#Jose_Fadul.27s_image before attempting to add it again. -Hunting dog (talk) 07:31, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
Procedural notice
editNot that you don't know, but Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Keith deligero (2nd nomination) was inadvertently created during the running of Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Keith deligero. I have closed the second nomination. If you wish to participate in the AfD, please contribute to the original one, which remains open. I am notifying all contributors to the 2nd AfD who have not also contributed to the 1st. :) --Moonriddengirl (talk) 15:26, 4 August 2008 (UTC)

AfD Benevolent Funipendulous Society
editHi Hunting dog. Did you skip a step when nominating this AfD? I do not see it on the daily log, which probably means it will not be discussed. ~ Ningauble (talk) 00:16, 24 August 2008 (UTC)
- oops sorry - looks like I did, have added it to 24th hopefully that's ok. Thanks for pointing out -Hunting dog (talk) 04:55, 24 August 2008 (UTC)
Coming to my defense re David Banks
editI appreciate your kind words; I've annoyed a couple of obstreperous types of late, and was a-wearying of it. --Orange Mike | Talk 02:02, 26 August 2008 (UTC)
I apologize for not citing sources better on this article before it went to AfD. I feel the subject was non-notable. --Oddharmonic (talk) 11:54, 31 August 2008 (UTC)
Hope you come back
editHey, we noticed you haven't been around en.wiki for awhile, so you've been moved to the WikiProject Orphanage Inactive list. We hope you'll come back, move your name back to the active list, and get back to de-orphaning real soon! Aervanath (talk) 18:42, 31 January 2009 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
