If I'm a bit pale in the face now,
it's because of the amazing support
during my recent request for adminship

And if in the future
my use of them should not always be perfect

Took me a while to get back to you for various reasons. Yes indeed I am still here! I also had a small break from wikipedia a few months back, it has been a real hectic year. Anyhow, ImpuMozhi if you remember it was your yourself who have kindly invited me to register in the first place. I have learnt so much from wikipedia (and being part of it) and all that is thanks to you. As for the photos, well many of them were actually already in wikipedia, such as the Jaivana's photo, which was already there in the Cannon article. Nevertheless, thankyou so much for the Barn Star, It felt nice as well when I saw it, thanks again!

Apart from that I'm quite surprised to learn from you about the relatively small number of people interested in Indian history, out of all the people in India that could speak English and have access to the Internet.. Another reason, which kept me in wikipedia is because of how disgusted I am of the continuous attempts to distort and simplify Asian history. Lastly, thanks for your wish with regards to the case, wouldn't say that trip was particularly happy due to the situation. In the past centuries, these internal family conflicts would have been much worse, as a historian yourself, I'm sure you can imagine. Nevertheless I have my own objectives in life (fortunately) which is to be an instigator of rural development and historic-conservation in Rajasthan, so these courtcases are just an unfortunate part of life that has to be dealt with.

Lastly, things would be much better though if I could reconcile with my grandma as soon as possible, after all it was not her fault, and she is the only grandparent I ever really got to know (as my Thai-grandfather passed away when I was 9).Devraj Singh 04:39, 13 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Ranganathaswamy Temple

edit

I see that you moved this article. I do not object. However, some editors believe that when a name refers to one subject far more often than to others, that a simple search for that name should bring up the most commonly expected subject. In the case of Ranganathaswamy Temple, I think by far the most expected subject would be the temple at Srirangam, which is the largest temple in India, and also the largest temple currently used as a Hindu temple. I am only sharing this for your reference so that you will be aware of the issue. Sincerely, --BostonMA talk 20:21, 8 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Images to commons

edit

Hi, the image was apparently moved to commons (rather: copied there and deleted here) by commons:User:Stanmar, using my PushForCommons tool. Knowing what images to move, it might be better to use my CommonsHelper tool which is easier to use for such a purpose. It is not a bot, just a helper tool for manual upload, as it prepares a decent image description for commons.

You can use the tool yourself. You will have to create a new user account on commons, though. You can use the same user name as here, if it is not taken.

The page you gave me as a category is not a category, however, images uploaded through the CommonsHelper tool will automatically be caregorized under the name of the original uploader here, in your case, commons:Category:Files by User:ImpuMozhi from en.wikipedia (which is currently empty; feel free to edit it).

Hope that helps, --Magnus Manske 22:54, 13 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

well, you just were active, by telling me, weren't you. So you could as well just have fixed it yourself. I mean, I cannot be expected to look after all the damage WIN is doing, I'm not glued to the screen myself. Maybe it is time to look into dealing with WIN as a perpetual waste of time without producing one useful edit, ever. Anyway, please try not to use me as your wikibot, you either walk away in a huff and stop caring (which I would of course deplore), or else you know where the editing button is :) dab (𒁳) 22:53, 5 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Template:User pi

edit

A tag has been placed on Template:User pi requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{transclusionless}}</noinclude>).

Thanks. --MZMcBride (talk) 21:42, 20 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

edit

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Dikshitar.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 01:07, 10 March 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ncmvocalist (talk) 01:07, 10 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for uploading File:Gandhi Boer War 1899.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

Non-free rationale for File:Kedarnath Agarwal.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Kedarnath Agarwal.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Speedy deletion nomination of File:VK Krishna Menon.jpg

edit

A tag has been placed on File:VK Krishna Menon.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free file with a clearly invalid licensing tag; or it otherwise fails some part of the non-free content criteria. If you can find a valid tag that expresses why the file can be used under the fair use guidelines, please replace the current tag with that tag. If no such tag exists, please add the {{Non-free fair use}} tag, along with a brief explanation of why this constitutes fair use of the file. If the file has been deleted, you can re-upload it, but please ensure you place the correct tag on it.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Proposed deletion of Babboor Kamme

edit

The article Babboor Kamme has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:GNG. Unsourced for years. Such a community does exist - at least in their own minds - but is documented only in passing and on dubious matrimonial websites. That's how castes work: they split and join, creating and morphing identities to suit their own ends.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
