Backmasking

edit

Hey, it's the famous Jeff Milner! Nice site, even though I have a feeling a lot of misguided people are using it to "prove" that Zeppelin and other artists backmasked. One suggestion: clear up the distinction between backmasking and backwards messages. The former is, by definition, deliberate, whereas the latter includes, as you say, "coincidental" messages. So the question here is somewhat misleading: "What do you think about backmasking? Is there some evil force, like Satan, that helped create them?" If they were created, it was by the artists, not by Satan.

I also wanted to ask you to help some more with Backmasking, and maybe take a look at List of backmasked messages. What is especially important right now is good references, and I'm sure you've come across some reliable ones in your journeys through the world of backward messages. If you could provide a few good sources, it would be a big help. Thanks, Λυδαcιτγ 02:49, 21 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Wow, it's been a long time since I've checked my talk page. Yeah, I'm certainly interested in helping you out. It will probably have to wait until the new year though.--Jeff 01:31, 30 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Whenever's good for you. At some point, I'm going to clean out and revise both Backmasking and the List of backmasked messages. Λυδαcιτγ 05:23, 27 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Hallo Jeff, if you're starting a new article like this please remember that this is an international encyclopedia, not a local one, and give us a clue about the geographical context. I'm guessing/hoping that the "Lethbridge" you mention is Lethbridge in Alberta (if not, please correct it), but another time please tell us, and link to the article. Also please note that we don't link dates like 1952. Thanks, and Happy Editing! PamD 15:58, 16 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

The Problem with Jon Stewart (TV series) moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, The Problem with Jon Stewart (TV series), is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. ... discospinster talk 21:36, 7 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
