Three-revert rule

Hiya! I've reported you over at the three-revert rule page, following the edit war at Allsvenskan. Feel free to reply to me here. Suede 19:38, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

I would advice you to not be too quick with reporting 3RRs, especially not this one. My first revert was to remove a factual error (Allsvenskan wasn't even played between 1896 and 1924, so how could there be champions from that time?). My second and third revert is reverting the same factual error. My fourth revert includes removing a comment by the user in Swedish, on the article page. IMO, I have not broken 3RR. – Elisson Talk 19:56, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

Hi. I want to remind you that all images need a source. Right now I'm thinking of Image:Axel Rappe Jr.png, Image:Johanpeterlefren.png and Image:Rodbergproposal.png.

So you're the joker who keeps reverting that Pirate Party article. You asked why I keep deleting the sentence? Obviously, for the reasons I have given on the article's talk page.
a) The Pirate Party's agenda is leftwing, and therefore can be place along the traditional left-right scale. Why is it that everyone but pirates, ideologically-motivated Wikipedia article maintainers, and possibly Swedes realizes this? You take a "party" that is judged by most people to be just left of the Communists and say that it cannot be placed along a left-right scale. It's unbelievable.
b) The sentence adds no value. If the Pirate Party has only four positions, say that it has only four positions. The encyclopedia is not an appropriate place for political rhetoric. Post facts only.

Double redirects

Hi Johan. Good work moving all those euro championship pages. I don't know if you realised but you've left a complete nightmare of double redirects in your wake. I've left a bot request here to fix them, anyway, so hopefully they'll be sorted out shortly. But you might want to check if you've moved anything else recently. Flowerparty 00:37, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Axel Rappe Jr.png. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Durin 19:41, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

Unspecified source for Image:Axel Rappe Jr.png

Thanks for uploading Image:Axel Rappe Jr.png. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Durin 19:41, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

Liverpool F.C. Reserves Article

I note that you have voted merge in the afd for the above article. I can understand your reasoning for this, but I do feel strongly that the Reserves are an important part of Liverpool F.C. and that it is desirable to have a place where verifiable, notable information about the Reserves can be placed without bloating with main article. I won't ask you to reconsider your vote if you do feel strongly about it, however, I would be very grateful if you might suggest ways in which you think the article could be developed such that it would not be redundant. (the article has shown significant growth since its creation, and I am confident that if given the chance it could grow into something much more useful, with more than just a couple of pieces of information- out of acorns/ stubs, mighty oaks grow and so on ;) ). Thank you. Robotforaday 20:45, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

Sorry I haven't answered your message, I'm feeling so tired by just looking at the discussion... I still do feel that the article should be merged into the main article. I hope we can reach a consensus on the Project after the AfD is closed, no matter how it ends. – Elisson Talk 20:50, 8 September 2006 (UTC)

Football club player lists

Should players be included in club player lists if they have never played a first team game for that club, or is it enough to have just signed up for that particular club? Benjy613 18:01, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

If they have signed a contract with the first team, then, IMO, they should be included in the player category, however I don't know if that is what you mean when you say "list"? – Elisson Talk 19:09, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
What I meant was for example, should players such as Peter Crouch, Charlie Sheringham or Jamie O'Hara be listed on the (Category:Tottenham Hotspur F.C. players) list if they never managed to play a first team game for Spurs? Or by the virtue of them signing a contract with the club, that should be enough by itself to be included in the categories? Benjy613 18:54, 11 September 2006 (UTC)
If they had a contract with the first team, then I would say yes. – Elisson Talk 18:58, 11 September 2006 (UTC)

Gilberto Silva rating

Johan, thanks for reviewing Gilberto Silva and giving it a B rating. In your edit summary of the talk page you said that [the article] needs much work to get higher on the class ladder. If you have a chance, could you give me some suggestions on how to make the article better so that it may one day rank as GA on the quality scale?

Thanks very much for your time, -GilbertoSilvaFan 16:29, 8 September 2006 (UTC)

Hi! What I meant with my comment was that it needs much work to go higher than GA-class, I expressed myself a little bit unclear. I saw it was up on GA nomination, but I am not very good at judging which articles are GA-class and which are not, so we'll have to see if it is good enough already. However, to be rated even higher, that is, A- or FA-class, it needs a lot of work, more text, incorporation of the trivia and court cases in the main text body, and just general fixes. See Denis Law for an example of a FA-class player article. Hope this helps a little. – Elisson Talk 19:15, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
Johan, thanks for your comments. I'm going to rewrite the article to try and do what you suggested. All the best. -GilbertoSilvaFan 11:50, 9 September 2006 (UTC)

Hi again Johan. I've just rewritten the Gilberto Silva article, and was wondering if you had the time to have a read over it to see if you can come up with any suggestions on how to imrpove it!

Thanks very much, and all the best. -GilbertoSilvaFan 02:27, 12 September 2006 (UTC)

Swedish National Soccer Team

I don't understand why you deleted so much of that information. Believe it or not, people do want to know about the goals- and that includes who scores them and how. Swedish fans are passionate, and for those who were unfortunate to miss the game due to living in America or having to work, this sight is essential in keeping them up to date. Please respond here. thanks. Kallstrom11 00:53, 14 September 2006 (UTC)

Wikipedia is not a newspaper. This is an encyclopedia. You do not expect to find detailed match reports in an overview article on the national team. Imagine the size of the page if we would have match reports for every single competitive match the team has played... For news reports, please use Wikinews. If people living abroad or people working need to read about the match, Wikinews, or any other news service is there for them, however, Wikipedia is not for that. – Elisson Talk 14:10, 14 September 2006 (UTC)

Kenny Allen

Hi! I stumbled upon this player when looking into the category of "my" club IFK Göteborg. As I never before had heard the name, and there are (and have been) generally very few foreign players in Swedish clubs, I looked a little closer into this, and I have found no trace of any Kenny Allen in any of the books and articles on IFK Göteborg. He is not mentioned in an article that lists all foreign players ever in IFK, and he is not found in any match record of the club. This page mentions IFK in his club career, but that is the only hit on Google. That page also has a different DOB than the article. Just wanted to tell you this as you started the article. :) – Elisson Talk 20:10, 19 September 2006 (UTC)

Hi, thanks for your message. He's usually listed in books in the UK as having been with IFK, but maybe he never actually played for your team. As he was a goalkeeper, it is possible that he was a reserve. The date of birth is as I have it from a Torquay United book, and I'm assuming that is correct. Markspearce

Football Club Infobox Template

Hello. Saw your reversed the change I made to the Football club infobox template as I hadn't discussed it first. Didn't think such a minor change would need to be discussed, but as you have suggested I have started this discussion on the talk page there. Care to contribute?

Have a barnstar

  The Barnstar of National Merit
I, Michaelas10, hereby award you this Barnstar of National Merit for your outstanding work on Sweden-releated articles. Oh yeah, and for being Swedish. Michaelas10 20:07, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
Wow, thanks! – Elisson Talk 20:19, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
No problem, awarding barnstars is my hobby. Michaelas10 20:24, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
I hope I can keep true to this Barnstar of National Merit by finishing my work on Boden Fortress in a short while! :) And once again thanks (even though it is your hobby)! ;) – Elisson Talk 20:37, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
Once again, no problem. Michaelas10 21:09, 6 October 2006 (UTC)

Makkabi Stockholm and Hakoah Malmö

Hey, wanted to ask you if you could find information in Swedish on these two clubs. Finding information about the Jewish clubs is difficult since many records were lost during World War II. I started these pages not because I care for Swedish amateur football sides, only because Icare for Jewish organizations and sports. It is very difficult to find such information on the internet but you should know that these teams are not merely sport teams.

Thanks for your help, NYC2TLV 07:28, 8 October 2006 (UTC)

Heavy metal portal

I'm starting a heavy metal portal here, I didn't add much by now, but when all the boxes are filled I'll list it on the directory of portals, mind to join? Michaelas10 13:30, 8 October 2006 (UTC)

Adminship

Congratulations, you are now a sysop - and by a unanimous decision! If you haven't already, now is the time to look at the Wikipedia:Administrators' how-to guide and the Wikipedia:Administrators' reading list. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me, or use the Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard. Warofdreams talk 17:29, 8 October 2006 (UTC)

Congratulations!

Your RfA message is so sweet. I completely agree--the support and kind words I received from other users was more valuable than the extra buttons I now have. (Though, I gotta say, the extra buttons are pretty sweet!) Congratulations! -- Merope Talk 05:15, 9 October 2006 (UTC)

Congratulations Johan! 64/0/0. That's got to make you feel good in a week filled with failed RfA's (we had 15 RfA's at one point haha). If you have any questions regarding admin tasks, feel free to contact me. Nishkid64 20:32, 9 October 2006 (UTC)

Alleged stalking

Please illustrate what you are talking about. This is an accusation I take seriously. —Malber (talkcontribs) 14:22, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

Using the words "possibly stalking" means you are making an allegation. Stalking is a crime in some jurisdictions. Before using such language you may want to consider the situation carefully and provide some diffs to back up your assertions. —Malber (talkcontribs) 14:52, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

My RfA

Announcement: It's an administrator!

Johan Elisson, thanks for your support on my request for adminship.

The final outcome was a robust 62/1/1, so I am now an administrator. If you ever have any questions about my actions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Thanks again, Chris Griswold
