As always, any content promoted after the end of round 3 but before the start of round 4 can be claimed in round 4. Please also remember that you must claim your points within 14 days of "earning" them. When doing GARs, please make sure that you check that all the GA criteria are fully met. Please also remember that all submissions must meet core Wikipedia policies, regardless of the review process.
If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article nominations, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed (remember to remove your listing when no longer required). Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove your name from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. Sturmvogel 66 (talk) and Cwmhiraeth (talk). Question from QoLxer (07:23, 15 July 2023)
Hello hello! I am longtime novice wikipedia editor and too-much-experience organizer as User:DrMel As part of my community work, I’m going through the current New User experience so I can guide others we are bringing in. Learning about the New User experience with my new QoLxer account
very grateful to see this mentor matching feature. Thank you for making your time available to help others - so inportant for helping people get started!!
Tomorrow i am helping a friend who is notable enough to have a wikipedia page try to get the errors corrected (again) and we could definitely use experienced editors to navigate the crazy obstacle course. We have him now with his own account and he is quite capavle of making simple edits and posting suggestions to Talk Page about factual errors and new information.
Still, as you know, the massive COI of going anywhere near articles about yourself (or a friend) means we need experienced editor guidance.
His name is Dan Ariely, user:Dariely67 Could you take a quick look at his current user page and the article about him? The errors are significant and the quality could be dramamtically inproved quickly. Any suggestions are welcome! Can we contact you with Qs? --QoLxer (talk) 07:23, 15 July 2023 (UTC)
- I would not say I am an experienced enough editor in the sphere of US academics to make judgement calls on my own. You would need to provide WP:RS which back the "new" statements, or otherwise prove that either the current sources are unreliable, or that the article has misinterpreted sources cited. Silas Papare
Silas Papare was member of a rescue operation of an American air crew that crashed in the region near kampung Baru on 27 July 1944. A Dutch-Australian-US team led by 2Lt Louis Rapmund (said to be a friend of Papare) was dropped of by a Catalina Flying boat and in a two week mission, brought the four man crew back to Biak. I've extensively researched this rescue operation and the live of Louis Rapmund and would like to know more about Papare. I see in the Wikipedia article on him, that there is a diary written by him. I've added this rescue operation to the Wiki about Papare. I have some pictures of Papare working together with Rapmund in August and September 1944, but don't know how to add these to Wikipedia. Baska1962 (talk) 19:58, 16 July 2023 (UTC)
- To add pictures, use Wikimedia Commons (https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Main_Page). Are these pictures from a book or an external publication, or personal archives? Juxlos (talk) 01:02, 17 July 2023 (UTC)
- The pictures I have were taken by the rescue team leader, Louis Rapmund, who died in Cianjur on 17 October 1945 (10 NICA and RAPWI personel were taken prisoner and later killed). I have to ask his family for permission to use the pictures on Wikipedia, making them CC pictures as I read it in the article you pointed to. Might you be able to help me with other related research? Maybe we can communicate in another way (email)? Baska1962 (talk) 13:51, 17 July 2023 (UTC)
- There is an "email this user" option in the sidebar, but the email I use for this account is a throwaway email and I don't check it often. Here would be fine, unless you have non-public domain files to send. Juxlos (talk) 07:55, 19 July 2023 (UTC)
- There's non public domain pictures you might be interested in that I'd like to share. I'll send you an email through "email this user" so you know there's something in that mailbox. Baska1962 (talk) 08:30, 19 July 2023 (UTC)

Question from AysegulYG (06:47, 21 July 2023)
Hello! yesterday I tried to publish an article that I've edited in my sandbox. What is the process for it to be published? And I also wonder if it was the right thing to use my User sandbox? --AysegulYG (talk) 06:47, 21 July 2023 (UTC)
- Looking at your sandbox, it seems to be a typical software that currently does not have significant external coverage. Wikipedia is not a marketing platform, so I would not publish it. Juxlos (talk) 09:36, 25 July 2023 (UTC)

DYK nomination
Hello! Your submission of Christina Aryani at the Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed, and some issues with it may need to be clarified. Please review the comment(s) at your nomination's entry and respond there at your earliest convenience. Thank you for contributing to Did You Know! Grk1011 (talk) 18:45, 20 July 2023 (UTC)
- Hello, do you plan to fix the concerns or are you ok with it not being a DYK? I can close the review if the latter is ok. Grk1011 (talk) 20:49, 27 July 2023 (UTC)
- Can’t think of another hook. Probably best to recycle the QPQ. Juxlos (talk) 06:10, 28 July 2023 (UTC)
