- Hey Joshua Jonathan -Let's talk!!
- I have made some edits on the Swaminarayan Sampraday page. Some of the links are not working and coming up in red instead of going to page redirect. I was reading how to do it but it seems not to work. Would you please take a look at it and tell me why what I did didn't work. Please see the example in the intro with the word Dharma....
- Sure I will. Joshua Jonathan -Let's talk! 17:44, 18 September 2020 (UTC)

editPlease refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Swaminarayan Sampradaya. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.
- If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor, please discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page, and seek consensus with them. Alternatively, you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant noticeboards.
- If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, please seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.
Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Apollo1203 (talk) 04:54, 22 September 2020 (UTC)
- @Apollo1203: I think you should be specific what exactly you are referring to. And maybe be more carefull with 'editing by reverting'. And Kevpopz: give yourself a pauze now, and stop reverting and reinserting too. See WP:3RR. Joshua Jonathan -Let's talk! 05:57, 22 September 2020 (UTC)
- @User:Joshua Jonathan I will stop but this user is undoing all my sourced edits and then asking to discuss. Based on the talk page, there are several open items and then they are dragged along by people who seem to interpret sources the way it fits their narrative.Kevpopz (talk) 06:01, 22 September 2020 (UTC)
- Yep. But if you continue reverting you'll surely be blocked. Take it slow and easy, one issue at a time, and base everything on WP:RS, like Hatcher (2020). Regards, and take care. Joshua Jonathan -Let's talk! 06:13, 22 September 2020 (UTC)
- I don't want to be blocked. I am just confused why my edits are allowed to be reverted first and then discuss. Shouldn't I be able to be bold and edit. I have not put any controversial material and I am using WP:RS yet this user is using tactics instead of discussing my edits.Kevpopz (talk) 07:00, 22 September 2020 (UTC)
Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, we would like you to assume good faith while interacting with other editors, which you did not do on Swaminarayan Sampraday. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Please read WP:5P4 and WP:AGF Skubydoo (talk) 04:45, 23 September 2020 (UTC)
- @User:Joshua Jonathan My bad for making a strong point but I didn't appreciate these warnings on my talk page from those two users when I knew they were pushing BAPS POV. I was triggered when I saw the overuse of BAPS authors and BAPS picture they fought me on was included basically twice in the article but reverted mine for their agenda. I am going to leave the article alone and move on to my sandbox mainly focusing on the sadhus. Thanks for your help and good luck.Kevpopz (talk) 16:58, 23 September 2020 (UTC)
Please be careful about what you say to people. Some remarks, such as your addition to Swaminarayan Sampraday can easily be misinterpreted, or viewed as harassment. Wikipedia is a supportive environment, where contributors should feel comfortable and safe while editing. WP:UNCIVIL - be careful of persistently accusing others of POV pushing or affiliation bias. 3RR
editRemember 3RR; you're at two now (one self-revert). Joshua Jonathan -Let's talk! 03:26, 24 September 2020 (UTC)
Hello Let's talk!,
So what do I do here. I am reading the 3RR. I don't understand. Anyone can undo an edit and just because they don't agree with it and then if I change it back with explanation that the picture is used TWICE! How is that my problem?
It says on 3RR that "Once it is clear there is a dispute, avoid relying solely on edit summaries and discuss the matter on the associated talk page, which is where a reviewing administrator will look for evidence of trying to settle the dispute."
Who is a reviewing administrator? Kevpopz (talk) 03:31, 24 September 2020 (UTC)
- Cool down, take it slow and easy. If you've got a complaint, you should go to WP:ANI. But that would be a long and messy affair. Joshua Jonathan -Let's talk! 03:38, 24 September 2020 (UTC)
- Wouldn't a normal editor make suggestions on how to fix a copyright issue then revert it? It seems that they were only reverting because Swaminarayans words are contradicting the BAPS interpretation. And the picture thing is simple, the same picture is being used twice and doesn't match the context of the paragraphs...Kevpopz (talk) 04:42, 24 September 2020 (UTC)
- I fully understand your emotions; see Talk:Swaminarayan Sampradaya#Devotees ownership. But I urge you to mind the tone of your responses. Stick to WP:RS, as you did with Hatcher, and take it slow and easy. And if you want to contact an administrator, maybe Vanamonde93 would be willing to take a look. Regards, Joshua Jonathan -Let's talk! 07:12, 24 September 2020 (UTC)
Sounds good. Thank you. I have a question. Maybe I am going crazy. In the Gunatit Samaj section of the article, it states "it was discovered that Dadubhai illicitly collected and misappropriated funds." No where does it say in the sources cited that this was the case. It was alleged and that founder responded but that specific item is not there. Before I touch it, can request you take a look at it? I feel like the talk page is filled with open items and it's just going to be a back and fourth with sect pushing and this is more of a specific question of finding an allegation that I am currently a hard time seeing. It says BAPS trustees...has not authorized the of raising funds and initiating girls. This founder still includes the pictures of the person (Yogiji Maharaj) who signed his order of expulsion but he states his successor was against him and doesn't include him in their iconography. (williams2001) pg66 Kevpopz (talk) 07:24, 24 September 2020 (UTC)
- Wouldn't be the first instance of poorly sourced info. If I remember correctly, there even was a Dispute Resolution thread for that subsection: Wikipedia:Dispute resolution noticeboard/Archive 193#Swaminarayan Sampradaya and User:Kbhatt22/sandbox#Resolved, edit 3. Regards, Joshua Jonathan -Let's talk! 10:13, 24 September 2020 (UTC) / update Joshua Jonathan -Let's talk! 10:53, 24 September 2020 (UTC)
- There was a DRN over the lekh as JJ pointed out and it was decided by majority consensus and not the merit of the sources or content. It was a very saddening experience. I am hopeful maybe some day an admin comes across these pages and reviews what is happening. Reason why I came here was to make a humble suggestion to Kevpopz....focus only on the content and sources. The revolving door of warnings is ultimately going to set up for an attempt at blocking and like JJ has said, curb the wording and cool it down to avoid it all together. There is no need to be blocked when you have presented edits that are sourced so stick to the source and don't say anything about users or any inherent bias. It has been noted by multiple users that the sourcing currently on the page is questionable and skewed in its representation at times and maybe some day an admin will review the larger picture, but please refrain from directing anything at any user. Stick to sources and content. Please take this as just a humble and friendly suggestion. Thanks! Kbhatt22 (talk) 12:00, 24 September 2020 (UTC)
- @Joshua Jonathan -Let's talk! do you recommend I wait for this picture issue for more discussion or escalate to another admin or wait cause they have not address any of the points so far....?
- @Kbhatt22 Let's see what happens. If you have time, would you like to sources some of the statements in my sandbox? The Sampraday article is devoid of how to become a member and the major sadhus.
- Kevpopz I would say hold off on proposing any new major sections or changes to that page for now. This is strictly my opinion of course but there are 27 items on that talk page and so once that list has been worked down, new things can be looked at. I did look at your sandbox and I think the Acharya section isn't needed the way that page is structured. The edits over the past few weeks have done a good job of prefacing claims to match sources and balance statements that misrepresented the sources. The second half of the Ascetics section looks promising to show who Swaminarayans important swamis were. I see you compiled the text from their respective wiki pages and some sourcing is needed. When that page is in a good place to think of new additions, I would gladly look at it. Right now, the laundry list of changes/corrections is already very lengthy. Kbhatt22 (talk) 00:37, 25 September 2020 (UTC)
- @Kbhatt22 You are right, the first half needs to be completely overhauled and there is already so much existing information. I want to work on that part. If you'd like to improve and source the ascetics, you are more then welcome. And the other users are invited too as long as they source other prominent sadhus besides Gunatitanand Swami.Kevpopz (talk) 02:50, 25 September 2020 (UTC)

editThank you for your contributions. It seems that you may have added public domain content to one or more Wikipedia articles, such as Swaminarayan Sampradaya. You are welcome to import appropriate public domain content to articles, but in order to meet the Wikipedia guideline on plagiarism, such content must be fully attributed. This requires not only acknowledging the source, but acknowledging that the source is copied. There are several methods to do this described at Wikipedia:Plagiarism#Public-domain sources, including the usage of an attribution template. Please make sure that any public domain content you have already imported is fully attributed. See talk page [[1]] Apollo1203 (talk) 02:01, 26 September 2020 (UTC)
You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at Swaminarayan Sampradaya. See talk page regarding copyright violation (4th instance) [[2]] Apollo1203 (talk) 02:02, 26 September 2020 (UTC)
- Immediate blocks are up to admins, and can be discussed. But be carefull to paraphrase usefull info. Regards, Joshua Jonathan -Let's talk! 04:31, 26 September 2020 (UTC)
