Okay, so he complained about you calling him and "intollerable troll" and this is one of the few times I agree. Statements like that only escalate conflicts and I suggest that you stay clear of possibly infamatory things like that in the future (just a suggestion of course). Thanks for your time! RFC

Am I allowed to remove anon comments form my RFC? This user is the same one who keep insisting I am Rex/Merecat. He always traces back to Kornet (Korea Net) and has been following me around and refuses to register an account. Whois Lookup for user:59.17.2220.220 [1]. Whois Lookup for User:221.146.211.193 [2]. Whois lookup for User:211.242.159.207 [3]. User:221.159.131.100 [4]. These are obvious all sockpuppets if someone involved with RFCU. If you look at their edits they are based against me and all from Korea Net. As you can see by their contrib lists all of thier edits are primarily focused on me [5] [6] [7] [8]

These accounts are obvious sockpuppets and I would like to know if I can remove them from my RFC. I would like to also add that the user certifying my RFC had shown no proof of dispute resolution, nor of their participation in the dispute being discussed, both against the rules of certifying an RFC. --zero faults |sockpuppets| 13:24, 10 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

I always thought you were a good editor and administrator and it's sad to see this happen to a fellow SGpedian. I offer you my condolences, and I have good hope you can be re-sysopped in the future. There is nothing really special about being an admin vs a regular editor, so I don't think there is any need for sympathy, except to the degree that its a negative and official commentary concomitant with this action by the Arbcom. Its being talked about on IRC which I find to be the best place to get the lastest info on a variety of matters. heheGiovanni33 23:59, 10 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

I totally undertsand the decision, don't worry about it, guys. No problem on my part, I've discussed this with Jimbo and will, probably, per our agreement, "get permission to" reapply sometime in September or so. NSLE (T+C) at 02:39 UTC (2006-06-11)

Warning for personal attack

Please see Wikipedia's no personal attacks policy. Comment on content, not on the contributor; personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Note that continued personal attacks may lead to blocks for disruption. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you.
[10] I am still waiting for an apology for your personal attack and the repeated false and misleading justifications for blocks of me. I am happy you got desysopped. Añoranza 11:01, 17 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

While NSLE's words were strong they were not intended as a personal attack. Your taunting here is inappropriate, non-constructive, and will not be tolerated on Wikipedia. NSLE was unable to tell with certainty that the IPs were not you, as they certainly looked like you... The impersonation of blocked users isn't common, but the evasion of blocks is... so if indeed he made a mistake there you'll have to forgive him. In any case, please try to be more civil. --Gmaxwell 11:49, 17 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
"Intolerable troll" is a very strong personal attack. I am still waiting for an apology for this as well as the repeated false and misleading justifications for blocks of me. I am happy he got desysopped and it is my right to be happy. Añoranza 13:34, 17 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
Being "happy" someone has been desysopped for a totally unrelated matter is more rude. If you look for apologies on Wikipedia, you are at the wrong place. Please just let the matter drop, this user has enough on his plate without people making personal attacks against him for alleged personal attacks where he was acting in good faith. Ian13/talk 15:27, 17 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
Calling others intolerable trolls shows no good faith, and the matters were not completely unrelated as both were abuses of admin powers. Añoranza 15:36, 17 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
So then whats the problem - you said it yourself, he is no longer an admin, what more do you want... Ian13/talk 16:13, 17 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
If you weren't as bad as it was, but then WP:AGF. It was kinda rude, "been acting like an intorable troll" would have been nicer, but WP:NICE don't exist. GangstaEB EA 19:09, 17 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hurricane Debby (2000) and others

I know that your on a wikibreak, but I thought I'd ask your opinion on something. In my sandbox, I'm working on multiple articles. One of them, Debby of 2000, I think should be published. What do you think? And if it was its own article, what class would it likely be? And if you feel like it, could I get some additional feedback on Jose and Dolly? Thank you. íslenska hurikein #12(samtal) 02:16, 22 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thank you. And if all of those things you mentioned are fixed, would that make the article a B-Class? Or a GA-class for that matter, because it is well-sourced (I think :) )? íslenska hurikein #12(samtal) 13:29, 22 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Typhoon Aere (2004)

Hey again, thanks for helping me publish Debby; it's now a B-class. But now I would like to publish Aere. Yes, I know most of the article's almost an exact copy of the season article, but after I publish Aere, I will greatly summarized what's written on the main page. So could you give me some pointers like you did for Debby? That would be a great help. íslenska hurikein #12(samtal) 13:11, 26 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hurricane Jose (1999)

I hope asking you these questions isn't bothering you, but what do you think of my version of Jose? It's a little bit on the short side, but it's 10 times better than the original article. Typhoon guidelines

Just a heads-up, to make sure you can participate in any discussion (if you wish to) before you leave. I've proposed a set of guidelines for how to handle the typhoon seasons in light of the unofficial nature of the JTWC. I think that they could provide a working framework on how to handle things, and given your interest in typhoons you opinions would be appreciated there. I just hope the rest of us can handle the updating of active storms there without you (I have tried to avoid taking part in it, but maybe I should join in).--Nilfanion (talk) 16:22, 29 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Dear NSLE, I see you've just closed Kinneyboy90's RfA. Actually, I recommended him to do so in the light of severe mistakes when creating the page. Tropical cyclones WikiProject Newsletter #2

Number 2, July 2, 2006

The Hurricane Herald

This is the monthly newsletter of WikiProject Tropical Cyclones. The Hurricane Herald aims to give a summary, both of the activities of the WikiProject and global tropical cyclone activity. If you wish to change how you receive this newsletter, or no longer wish to receive it, please add your username to the appropriate section on the mailing list.

Storm of the month

Tropical Storm Alberto near peak intensity
Tropical Storm Alberto was the first tropical storm of the 2006 Atlantic hurricane season. Forming on June 10 over the western Caribbean Sea, the system moved northwestward as a disorganized tropical depression due to dry air and wind shear. It passed to the west of Cuba, bringing heavy rainfall to Cuba and Grand Cayman. The rainfall damaged 37 homes and destroyed 3 in Havana. It strengthened over the Gulf of Mexico and became a tropical storm on June 11. The center reformed to the northeast near its deep convection, and Alberto reached a peak intensity of 70 mph (110 km/h) before weakening and hitting the Florida Panhandle on June 13. Alberto brought heavy rainfall to the southeastern United States, peaking at 7.16 inches in Raleigh, North Carolina. The rainfall in Florida was beneficial in places as it alleviated drought conditions. The storm indirectly caused two deaths: A pilot who crashed near Tampa due to poor conditions and a boy who drowned in the flooding in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Selected articles on Portal:F1

Hello again.

I dropped notes round a while back to those who have listed themselves at Wikipedia:WikiProject_Formula_One to ask for suggestions for selected articles on portal:Formula One. There was a pretty good response, both in terms of how it might work and of articles suggested. Damon Hill came out with the most support and was brought up to Good Article standard after a lot of work by Skully Collins and others before going on as the F1 portal selected article a couple of weeks ago. It is now at Featured Article Candidates as a Featured Article candidate (why not drop by and see if you can help polish it further?).

Several people who responded to the original request suggested that a monthly or bi-weekly 'Selected Article' could act as a catalyst for an improvement drive to get more articles up to a higher standard. Although it wasn't quite what I had in mind when I started, this seemed to work pretty well for the Damon Hill article, so I've drafted up a process for doing this more regularly. See Portal_talk:Formula_One/Management_of_selected_articles for details. Essentially the suggestion is that we vote for an article to improve every couple of weeks and at the end of the improvement process the article goes on the portal as the new 'Selected Article'. I'd be grateful for any comments on how this might work - I'm sure some of you are more familiar with things 'Wiki' than me - as well as your votes for the next candidate (by 16 July).

You may also want to help with the article Gilles Villeneuve, which was the next most popular after Damon Hill. The idea is to try and get it up to GA standard by 16 July and then put it on the portal as the 'Selected Article'. I hope you can help! 4u1e 18:18, 2 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
