Capcom Super League Online DYK, AfD

edit

Hello,

While reviewing Capcom Super League Online at the Did You Know nominations page, I ran into a problem because the subject of the article may not meet Wikipedia's notability guidelines. Accordingly, I've submitted it for possible deletion. The discussion will take place at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Capcom Super League Online (once it is created — for now, the rationale is provided on the article's talk page) until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article until the discussion has finished.

If and when the article survives AfD, I would be glad to take up reviewing of its DYK nomination entry again.

Thanks, — 2406:3003:2077:1E60:C998:20C6:8CCF:5730 (talk) 11:15, 12 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. To help yourself remember, you may wish to check the "prompt me when entering a blank edit summary" box in your preferences. Thanks! Ckfasdf (talk) 06:23, 14 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I noticed that you are constantly adding bare urls to articles. Please, use full citations instead. I have several times asked you in the edit summaries to not add bare urls to articles, but it seems that you either didn't read my warnings or you plainly don't care about it. I'm assuming good faith, but it's not the idea to make other editors fixing your own edits, so I would appreciate if you take this into account. Cheers. Hello Ominae. Thanks for digging up so many sources on the Honda Crossroad and others. Be aware that clearinghouses like carsensor and goo-net always list beginning and ending months as January and December respectively when they do not know the precise answer. Others then read this as gospel and gradually those dates become "fact", but they are not necessarily correct. Best regards,  Mr.choppers | ✎  19:09, 24 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Reminder on Policy regarding Self-Pulbished sources

edit

According to Wikipedia:

"Self-published expert sources may be considered reliable when produced by an established subject-matter expert, whose work in the relevant field has previously been published by reliable, independent publications."

While Max's works are self-published, there are already numerous times that mainstream, defense, and news media outlets have used his work or sourced him for their own publications or reports. Recent examples that you yourself used are the articles from South China Morning Post discussing Chinese doantions, and the German report on "Small Arms in Small Hands". There are more, but in short, this meets the guidelines on considering self-published sources as reliable, independent publication.

Also, there seems to be cherry-picking on your part regarding use of self-published work, wherein you leave them when there's no other sources, but remove them when other international sources including self-published sites which at times also used Max's work as reference are available. You should understand the context of Wikipedia's policy more, and instead try to look for other self-published sources that do not meet Wikipedia's criteria, if you really intend to clean up the system. Deletion of Military History Project B Class Assessments

edit

While I am sure you had good intentions, please do not delete the military history project B class assessments with the strikethroughs. These are meant as a quick visual clue that the assessment has been made. It is not only that. The reply is the only notice that the user who requested the assessment has that the assessment has been made. The user gets a notice that there is a reply on the page but not the exact message in the reply. That reply may be that the assessment is completed or it may be a message about the article needs a little more work for a B class assessment. We need to leave the assessment and reply in place long enough for the user to see the message. With no reply showing, many users might not realize what the message was and whether the assessment is completed. (It has happened once recently.) It would be unnecessary additional work for assessors to also place additional messages on the user talk pages. Thanks for your contributions to the project and keep up the good work.
