Welcome

Hi Rajeev, thanks for your message, nice to see your bird contributions. I will certainly look at them. The bee-eater you posted looks like a Chestnut-headed beeeater. cheers Shyamal 14:37, 29 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Baya weaver should have what you wanted now. In southern India, blue-tailed bee-eater, is seen near lakes in winter alone. They are quite large. Your image has a bird without the tail-wires, it is most likey an immature Small Green Merops orientalis given the habitat. Wonder if you could get tighter crops of your images. I had to recheck - Merops persicus should not normally occur in South India. Merops philippinus - the Blue-tailed bee-eater does. Shyamal 16:29, 29 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Blue-cheeked Bee-eater

My error. I viewed the page using pop-ups and then rolled-back to revert the strange link in the middle of the species' name. I stupidly didn't notice that I was reverting images too - I've restored them now, sorry jimfbleak 15:29, 29 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Myrmarachne

edit

Hi Rajeev, Hope you have verified the identity of the Myrmarachne. For such groups it is neccessary to get expert opinion before assigning them to species. Upto genus is often more easy. Shyamal 00:54, 12 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
