Wikigraphist abilities

Brilliant Idea! I've added myself to the list. Only thing I noticed was the the column with the SVG logo didn't quite match up with the 1-2-3 columns, and the pic of a camera. Is this just my computer acting up? Also, I was thinking that the section that says "The Graphics Lab helps improve all graphical content..." might be worth moving to somewhere like Wikipedia:Graphic Lab/Header and used as a template.

• I'll have a go at making the tables line up in a bit (BTW, I use Firefox on Ubuntu, don't know about other browsers). Does it have to be in Wiki-markup or can I make tables HTML-style (I find it easier to understand)?
• The headers are better now, but with all these pages, The Map of the Graphic Lab page (unused) might need to be created, that's also on my todo list
• As you may have guessed I'm addicted to -moz-border-radius, sorry about that.

See User:DTR/Sandbox for the table (It's just one big table, no nesting) of Wikigraphists and User:DTR/Sandbox2 for the modified template. Orphaned non-free media (Image:Hexley.svg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Hexley.svg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. RE:Brands of the World

Hi Chris, I was wondering on how you converted the EPS's on brands of the world, to SVG's. I have tried using pstoedit (by the way i'm running Ubuntu Linux) but can't seem to get the library for SVGs working. Could you offer me help on how to do this. Hi. pstoedit has a plugin system, so be sure you get the plot-svg plugin. On Ubuntu, this is in the libpstoedit0c2a package.[1] Then you can use a command line like this to perform the conversion:

pstoedit -f plot-svg inputfile.eps outputfile.svg

Also, check out the pstoedit options for color and text options, they may be helpful to limit later hand-tuning in a tool like Inkscape, but this varies based on the postscript used. header template on WP:GL/IMPROVE

68.39.174.238 noticed that you can't edit a header generated by the new template: maybe moving the ==double equals== out of the template and onto the page might fix it.

Also, maybe the next announcement should be a template so it can be easily updated? Or maybe we could have something like {{Signpost-subscription}} for Graphics news (e.g. new release of Inkscape)?

Well, when you changed the announcement, you had to manually go to everyone's talk pages and remove the notice about templates, and then re-add it later when it was working. If it was a template you would only have to change it once... --Dave the Rave (DTR)talk 08:18, 30 September 2007 (UTC)
