  The Resilient Barnstar
For your response after the GA review of Whole Health Action Management. Your civility in responding to criticisms and then pointing out something I missed was wonderful, and is an example of what Wikipedia was meant to be. TonyBallioni (talk) 02:03, 16 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

Macro social work

edit

I'm thinking of writing a separate article for macro social work what do you think? also whare would i look for sources? RJJ4y7 (talk) 02:54, 16 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

@RJJ4y7: Thanks for your interest in working on this! I agree that this is an worthwhile article to write. I have a few other priorities in the short run, but I will try to help with it over the next few weeks. In the meantime, I have added a list of sources to the article from a Google Scholar search. Alternately, any introductory social work textbook may be suitable to get the article started. Daask (talk) 01:02, 17 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Ashot I of Iberia

edit

On the Ashot I of Armenia article you had posted something in your edit summary, "Undid revision 1241291736 by Armeniansarebest (talk). Ancestry is contested, so reverting to geographic description.", to which an IP reponded to you, "Daask Ancestry is contested in BagratIONI dynasty, not in Bagratids who was regretted to be of Armenian origin and reverted your edit.

Why do I get the feeling that the IP is user:Armeniansarebest? Your thoughts? --Kansas Bear (talk) 16:37, 30 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Kansas Bear:. I'm very confident that this is the same user, and reported that at User talk:Ingenuity/Archive 11#Armen888 SPI. No one else is obsessed with replacing links to Armenia with links to Armenians.
On that edit, perhaps my edit comment was beside the point, because Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Biography § Context says we shouldn't mention ethnicity in the lede even if it is verifiable.
On the ancestry/ethnicity claim, our articles document that the Bagrationi dynasty of Georgia and the Bagratuni dynasty of Armenia are branches of the same family. I have no knowledge of this topic, but Bagrationi dynasty#Origins indicates uncertainty. It's not uncommon for these kinds of historical ethnicity claims to be asymmetric controversies only studied by partisan scholars promoting ethnic nationalism; often there isn't sufficient evidence to be confident, and less partisan historians don't find it interesting or important to study. Daask (talk) 17:49, 30 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for letting Ingenuity know about this. --Kansas Bear (talk) 20:33, 30 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Sorry to keep bothering you, but what are your thoughts on this editor? --Kansas Bear (talk) 20:58, 30 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
I don't mind. Special:Diff/1247863470 clearly indicates an experienced Wikipedia editor; that's a particularly arcane piece of template syntax. However, they don't yet have enough edit history for me to link them to Armen888/Armeniansarebest. Daask (talk) 22:08, 30 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
A similar IP46.71.29.196 has canvassed Yevevantsi, concerning the ethnicity of David the Invincible. Two socks of Armen888 had previously edited this article.[1][2]
This IP is blocked user:Armen888. David's ancestry was removed initially by Srnec. Which was reverted by a sock of Armen888(Armeniansarebest). --Kansas Bear (talk) 13:04, 17 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

Error on template

edit

Hello. First of all, thanks for creating Template:Translated blockquote. :) I recently used it in one of my articles when it was brought to my attention that it's showing a error message. It appears to be persistent on the template page itself. Would it possible for you to check it out and see if it's something easily fixable? Thank you. --Saxum (talk) 14:34, 18 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Saxum: Thanks for bringing this to my attention! It's the result of a recent changes to Module:Lang which removed some features. I've documented the changes that need to be made at Template talk:Lang § fn lang xx inherit parameter values removed and hope to implement it in the next few days. Daask (talk) 21:05, 18 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
Done Further conversation at Template talk:Lang § fn lang xx inherit parameter values removed indicates that the features of Template:Lang will soon be restored, so there is no further action needed specific to Template:Translated blockquote. Daask (talk) 15:39, 19 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

converting Citation to Cite

edit

Your edit of 16:01, 24 June 2024 (UTC) of Decline in insect populations has the summary "Make all citation templates Citation Style 1 for consistency per WP:CITEVAR". That's great, but you left a bunch of |postscript=., which were there in the first place to make the Citation templates display more like Cite templates. This generated numerous CS1 maint: postscript (link) warnings, although they might not have been displayed until more recently. So, please continue your efforts to "Make all citation templates Citation Style 1 for consistency per WP:CITEVAR", but when you do, please strip out |postscript=.. Cheers! —Anomalocaris (talk) 06:32, 26 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
