C.S Lewis

edit

While I personally agree with your edit, I had to revert it simply because there was no consensus as to whether Lewis should be called "Irish" or "British" (or a combination of the two, which was my second choice...) on the talk page. And I agree that Colress is not really a rival..hehe. --Τασουλα (talk) 00:18, 25 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

British is non-descriptive. He should be identified as Irish as that what he was regionally. Thats like saying Sean Connery shouldn't be identified as Scottish first because he is British as well. Now if you don't mind i'll revert this. Stevenbfg (talk) 00:25, 25 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
No, I'm afraid you shouldn't revert this because you'll be breaking WP:BRD. Take it to the talk-page. And I didn't say I disagreed with you in the first place, but I still have to abide by the rules... --Τασουλα (talk) 00:28, 25 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
See the talk page in C.S. Lewis. Stevenbfg (talk) 00:33, 25 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for making a thread there. There's something you need to know: There was an extensive debate that raged on for a very long time about this, there were people blocked, topic-banned I believe and a lot of grumbling...it was a war. I have no intention in getting involved with one again. Maybe I'll go edit some Pokemon articles...good luck anyway. --Τασουλα (talk) 00:36, 25 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
I have reverted your edits to C. S. Lewis to the page's previous state. You must get consensus on the article's Talk page before making such a change. As mentioned above, there is a long history here, which you should review before re-opening this can of worms. -- Elphion (talk) 02:14, 25 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Actor Jack O'Connell Himself Said That He Is "Half Irish" So That Makes Him Irish-english But Someone Locked Him As english So Please Could You Change His Nationality To Irish-english Or Help Me Get Some Irish wiki editor. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.163.250.93 (talk) 13:21, 25 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

I'm afraid I can't do that. He may very well be Half Irish ethnically but he was born and raised in England and does not hold Irish citizenship. So I can't call him "Irish-English". Chris de Burgh would be someone who's technically "Irish-English". Stevenbfg (talk) 07:59, 26 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

I have opened a discussion on the talkpage of Irish people to avoid an editwar. But I have to say the the wide infobox is created on 26 June 2013. Perhaps you know this editor. The Banner talk 22:50, 9 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

It was a joint effort. I know Ken and asked him to make another png because he is a more experienced editor but he placed individual pictures instead which is where I came in. Stevenbfg (talk) 23:06, 9 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
You mean: he started and you made the infobox excessively wide.   The Banner talk 23:08, 9 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
I didn't make it wide. It looked fine but then later on the image box became really wide and that white line appeared. That's why I changed it. You weren't even there so you don't know anything. Stevenbfg (talk) 23:10, 9 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
LOL, okay. You deny every involvement.   BTW: Wellesley was born in Dublin. The Banner talk 23:20, 9 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
You are being very childish here. I am only being honest. I didn't have to change the image box until it started going all funny. Why do you find that so hard to believe? Stevenbfg (talk) 23:27, 9 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Duke of Wellington

edit

"And Arthur Wellesly is not ethnically Irish at all." - how is the Duke of Wellington not ethnically Irish? He was born in Ireland, his parents where born in Ireland, and they also are of Irish parents. If you are requiring Irishmen as needing to be of Gaelic ancestry or purity then you are severely mistaken and know nothing about the complexities of ethnicity. Mabuska (talk) 00:04, 10 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

You're right I guess. But who should we kick out to put him in? Stevenbfg (talk) 00:06, 10 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
I'm right full stop. No-one needs kicked out unfortunately as The Banner or someone simply made accommodation for them all. Simple solution. Mabuska (talk) 00:33, 10 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Please do not...

edit

... make the infobox at Irish people so ridiculously wide. That serves no purpose. Do no start that edit war again, like you did last year. The Banner talk 23:44, 23 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

I was simply doing it the same way as other ethnic groups like Scottish people. I think the pictures look all over the place on the current one and having their names under them makes it easier, but whatever. Stevenbfg (talk) 18:14, 24 August 2014 (UTC)Reply
