I nominated this at WP:AFD rather than speedily deleting it: 2 editors had "contributed" to it, I still think it's not notable. You're free to comment there. Carlossuarez46 23:02, 22 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

There has been much debate about whether the items listed at criteria A7 of speedy deletion (WP:CSD#A7) is a list of examples or is exclusive. I would favor the former, but some very vocal editors advocate the latter and file deletion reviews on most anything that gets speedy deleted outside that list. For whatever reason, books aren't on the list. So, rather than provoke drama when I am pretty sure what the outcome ought to be, I'll take it to Afd. There seems to be many differences of opinion that some people take far too seriously. If there is any wiki-wisdom in this post the last sentence probably embodies it. :-) Carlossuarez46 00:15, 23 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yeah I saw that, however, that user has been repeatedly creating pages from copyrighted material, copied word for word from tv.com. Thanks for your help, though! ArielGold 03:14, 23 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

By the way, that was nice of you. Personally, I take copyvio seriously, and I feel the notice CorenBot gives them plenty of information, explains it nicely, and refers them to pages that will let them learn policy. And after this user obviously ignored 5+ notices, (the user would have to have seen that big bright yellow banner, since they were creating page after page after page) I just feel that they either read it and ignored it, or didn't care. So, while I'd normally add a very nice custom box with information, when I saw 5+ CorenBot messages there, I didn't bother with it. I rarely use standard templates, but this person was creating them so fast, ignoring notices, etc, that I just didn't think my special custom box would do much good at that point, lol. Thanks again for your help ArielGold 03:26, 23 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Actually you have a point...My bad! :P I'm a n00b at using NPWatcher. I've been a newpage patroller for about a month, and am still working out the kinks...Good catch! Actually it looks like a bunch of people are vandalizing it. So anyway, good eye! My mistake. FamicomJL 06:52, 23 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

EJ Wells

edit
  • Hello, Zelse81. When you redirected the article EJ Wells to the fork that is there at the moment, you deleted a fictional character article. And I want to know what brought you, in this manner, to the decision to redirect the fictional character article titled EJ Wells. This will surely have to be undone. Thanks for re-adding it. No need to add another warning. If the author blanks a page, and there have been no other substantial edits to that page, then it automatically becomes eligible for WP:CSD#G7. If the user had removed only the speedy deletion tag, then I would leave this warning. - Rjd0060 (talk) 05:01, 7 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, I'm guessing with the username and the lovely article he/she is creating, it's a vandalism-only account. Thanks for leaving a warning. Pinkadelica 05:39, 17 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Nootropics

edit

I'm very happy to answer questions on anything pertaining to Wikipedia or its contents (that is, on any subject in the World).  :)

The most basic and most cost effective nootropics are the precursors to the main neurotransmitters, and the cofactors the body uses to turn those precursors into the neurotransmitters. Precursors become part of the neurotransmitter molecule, while the cofactors don't.

The main neurotransmitters that the brain uses are acetylcholine, dopamine, and serotonin. Taking these directly is useless, because they are broken down in the degestive system.

The precursors to those are:

The cofactors are:

All of the above are readily available (for cheap) at the local health food store.

The idea is, in order to optimize brain function, optimize the brain's level of neurotransmitters to support its functioning. End result: enhanced mental performance.

Keep in mind that too much of these creates the opposite effect: a drop in mental performance. So you need to find the right levels for you.

Remember, the most important nootropic of all is knowledge about nootropics.

Good luck, be careful (though all of the above are relatively safe), study up, and have fun.

I noticed that you tagged the page Kim chaplow with {{db-a7}}. It would be better to tag it with {{db-person}}, to be more specific. Thanks, Pepper·piggle (at 22:20, 21 December 2009 (UTC))Reply

Hi Zelse81!! Some parts of that article I had copied and pasted. So when it says 'our' it was a mistake. To be completely honest I haven't got a clue how to effectively right this article. I have visited the hotel a couple of times, and its a notable landmark in Oxford because of its popularity and recent national fame. I wanted to right as much as I knew about it! Speedy deletion declined: Ryan Hartford

Hello Zelse81, and thanks for your work patrolling new changes. I am just informing you that I declined the speedy deletion of Ryan Hartford - a page you tagged - because: his company won awards, admitedly at local festivals, but that's sufficient for A7. PROD or take to AfD if required. Please review the criteria for speedy deletion before tagging further pages. If you have any questions or problems, please let me know. How do I unstub my article on the Southwestern corn borer?

edit

You wrote to me a little while back and encouraged me in the writing of my first article. Thank you...now how do I get it 'unstubbed'?

bpage (talk) 03:19, 5 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thank You!

edit

I appreciate and time and effort you gave me regarding how 'stubbing' works. I am afraid that I was starting to think of an article as my own. How wrong, and I don't know why my thinking was going that way. I learned a lot from your answer to me.

Hi,

Was trying to edit the Old Bank hotel wiki page. Every time I add a note, with new sources it seems to be removed a few days later. It's not a huge deal, but why is this? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.229.130.78 (talk) 17:06, 16 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Old Crimson King Comment

edit

I realize you wrote that bit of speculation on the Crimson King page quite a while ago, but I just had to say nice job on it. It's really similar to what I've always thought from the DT books, Black House and Insomnia. Though instead of the werespider king being a normal guy who was corrupted by the real one, I've always thought he was a sort of avatar, created by the king's followers (the old ones) as a way for him to have more direct control over things. I believe that the whole point of the line of eld always being fed dreams telling them to go to the tower was the tower forcing eld's decendants to redeem him by climbing to the top and destroying the original king (who I think will be behind roland's door when and if he's ever able to properly open it). By destroying the original king, he would both stop the "infection" the king was causing from inside the tower, and most likely cause the avatar king to be destroyed as well, stopping his attack on the beams from the outside, thus completely restoring order to the world. /ramblingsGerokeymaster (talk) 01:35, 28 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
