- Keep- Google gave 10,000 hits for "elephant joke," and 42,100 for "elephant jokes." Jokes about elephants have been made for hundreds if not thousands of years. Several versions of the world-famous Blind Men and an Elephant tale involve humor, and Groucho Marx' joke about an elephant in Animal Crackers (1930) was listed by AFI as one of the 100 best movie quotes of all time (it's number 53) [1]. There are even 54 Google hits for "canonical list of elephant jokes"! And elephant riddles are used to illustrate scientific principles by Prof. Sol Spiegelman (Practice Problems in the Use of Poisson Distribution Statistics) [2] I think the problem with this article are that it doesn't list many sources, but that can be fixed.
